Happy Thread

Ethan got this first start on the bump as a highschooler!!!! 60 pitches later he pitched a complete game!! 9 strikeouts in 5 innings. Very very proud
That is awesome Chad! Makes you heart come up in your throat a bit huh?

Let me share some love about how the world lost a special person this week. Emil Pozderac was very close friend, a mentor, a buddy, a father, and treasure.

Emil was a big Croation man who turned his farm into a golf course, bar, and restaurant near my cabin. I have become very close with Emil and all of his family, several years ago Emil invited me to a family only party and I thanked him but said it wouldn't be right, he said it would be perfect because I was family to them.

Emil NEVER had a bad day! He had a smile and a zest for life that makes me sad that I couldn't be more like him, but so, so, proud to have known him.

Up until about 4 years ago, Emil (89) could shoot his age at golf and drink everyone under the table! His health took away his ability to golf but as of 3-4 weeks ago, he still could be found at his bar sharing his love for life, and people, with everyone at the bar. He made sure that his bar, restaurant, and golf course felt like home to everyone!

A few years ago, I walked into the bar one evening and Emil waved me over to come sit with him. He pulled out a rather large brown medicine bottle with the white cap and said "here is the latest batch, it's pretty good" I looked at him because outside liquor is a big no-no in an Ohio bar. He said "here, look at the label, it says take as needed, and I think you need some". So I discreetly looked around and took a sip. In mid-sip I look toward the kitchen and his son Mike, who now runs the business, is standing there watching us shaking his head ...... pissed but not really.

Another of the many stories with Emil happened about 8 years ago. He and I were riding together playing in a local charity event. I was extremely hung over and was really struggling to putt. The fourth hole goes back toward the clubhouse and although it was still only about 8:30 AM, I said "partner, I am embarrassed to say this but I "need" to go get some beer if I am going to be of any help to this team" he calmly asked me to get him a six-pack Budweiser. Once again, he made me feel awesome!

RIP my friend <<<< Link

Looking forward To Easter Sunday tomorrow! I'm a believer, but I am also looking forward to seeing all of my family on my moms side under the same roof for the day. Just got done putting together the kids Easter Baskets to give them. Well, they're not kids any longer. First year giving them adult baskets. image.jpg

This is the part we miss so much, being old and your youngest is 51, but we we had out S-I-L over for dinner and a good chat. You brothers with the family and the kids, soak it up, takes photos so you have the memories. Nice to see this John.
