I would sign up for O-lights email list. I picked up a couple of their PL 2 Valkyries a few months ago for under $60 dollars. Well made and around 1200 lumens. Have put a couple hundred rounds down range with both my AR and 9mm with no issues. No experience with it on a shotgun.

You folks do realize that flashlights work both ways, screw up your night vision and if too damn bright in close quarters can blind you just from the reflection. Military helmet lights (which is what they use for interior needs) are 50-100 lumens for just that reason.

But I want my flashlight to start fires, burn retinas, and end world hunger. :D

I didn't realize the military helmet light lumens were that low, but makes perfect sense. Doesn't blind the user, and doesn't wake up the whole neighborhood.

I had a chance to shoot the 10mm HiPoint carbine today. It had a basic red dot sight on it with no magnification. I and the guy it belonged to had no problem doing a chest double tap at 100 yards. Not long range but longer than any pistol will shoot with the same accuracy. I know it is a HiPoint but for ~$350 I wouldn't snicker until you get a chance to fire it. A hands on review to consider.
 
Why they'd come out with a PCC that doesn't use Glock or S&W mags is beyond me.....seems awesomely short sighted.

I am late to this thread, there is a lot to be said about lights, and people come done on various sides of the fence. I am not a fan of gun mounted lights....As a combat MP I learned to shoot, move, and clear one handed, I made it a point to become proficient and firing my pistol from a one-handed grip (both hands) and while moving. Having a light on the end of your weapon lets the enemy know where to shoot as well, blinded or not.....now these are my opinions, and I have no issue with anyone that mounts a light, in the end it has to be about what you are trained, comfortable, and competent at.

At this stage, there is no way I would move room to room in my house flailing around with a pistol in one hand....not safe or effective any longer.

Again, sorry this is a bit late to the party, but I am trying to catch up on some stuff I missed...lol.

I finished this a few months ago. My STI main carry gun along with my 10mm depending how I feel.
Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight
STI adjustable rear sight
Modified Wilson Combat Extended slide stop
JTM extended oversize mag release button
Trigger job to 4lbs
Egungrips Cobra Strike grips shaved .050 on each side just because I liked it better
Smith & Alexander one piece arched MSH & Magwell
Pearce finger grips.
8 rounds Remington 185gr +P 45ACP ammo (The best defensive round for a 45 IMO)

I just looked into Alien Gear and it looks pretty flexible and comfortable. My Sig P938 fits in my pocket so I would never need a holster but I may suggest it to my wife. The recent increase in phone size makes printing a non-issue for men now days.

I have 3 of them - one for the 1911 frames, my FN and Springfield. can't really go wrong with Alien Gear.
 
Egungrips Cobra Strike grips. Really like those grips. Would be interesting to see how they feel.

I have them on 3 of my 1911s. Fairly aggressive and they don't allow any up or down movement. Maybe you could ask Egungrips for a sample piece.

I love a good aggressive texture for the grips.
Added skateboard grip tape to an xdm once because the damn thing was slippery as a catfish.

The answer for any grip issue is Talon granular grip. It's on my competition pistol and on the new Mossberg Shockwave I purchased.

I have an XDM and added a Pachmayr sticky rubber grip to it. Worked OK but I found that a good pair of shooting gloves was better for that particular pistol.
