So last night myself and some of the Outlaw boys got together and enjoyed a rousing game of Guitar Hero II on the Xbox 360. I can definitely say I was waiting for this for a while. I'll admit that I quite enjoy the PS2 versions of this game, and have logged a few hours in my pretend rock and roll universe. Despite that the 360 version of this game is excellent.

Seriously who ever figured out to hooked up a Playschool looking guitar to the tv so every airguitar couch rocker could immerse themselves in a rock and roll fantasy world is a friggin' genius. Rolling through Jessica by the Allman Brothers on Expert makes you feel like you might really be able to rock. Kind of like drinking makes me feel like I can hit on hot chicks, or kick Hulk Hogans ass  .

After a couple of hours of playing with the guys, and for a select audience of the Outlaw regulars, their ovations made me feel like a 5th grader after a recorder concert. Accomplished in the sense that, in my mind, I rock. Yet applauded like the kid who got 7th place at the spelling bee. More of a "Nice job, but seriously you can't spell cactus?" .

So to the heart of the matter. Who else prays to the fake, but awesome rock gods of Guitar Hero, or am I just a lonely dorky internet rocker?

My 15 year old loves this thing... he told me yesterday that he beat the game on the highest level. I plucked (tapped) out a few songs on the easiest level, but didn't see the attraction.

I'm more of a Halo kinda gamer!

I'm not really a gamer at all. I watched my friends play this thing for months. They kept trying to get me to play but it didn't look fun. I eventually tried it and man is it addicting. I have only played about 10 times now but I love it.

PS2 version

I love GHII. I play the PS2 version and had tons of the unlocked songs. Now with the Xbox 360 I need to start all over! On the plus side I heard that the first guitar hero songs will be available for the xbox GHII version via download in the future :)

idk what skill level you play at but going from medium to hard is a big step. It gets quite hard. Songs like "Free Bird" on expert become a challenge.

Here is a guitar hero god!

I've tried the game more than a few times, as I have some friends that are really into it. I just can't find the attraction.

I have both games on the ps2. My roommate bought it for my 'birthday' so he could play it.
Oh, that happened with my roommate as well. On release night for GHII we went to WalMart at midnight. He's asking, "So, why are we here again?" After I explain the whole concept of the game to him he just stares at me, as if I have birthed a cucumber, and says, "That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. You're an idiot!"

A few weeks later I come home and find him in front of the TV rockin' screaming, "This game friggin' rocks out!". Yea........

I have to make sure my older kids don't see this or they will get addicted. I remember, awhile back, when pacman was the thing I got addicted to for awhile. Enjoy bro!!

Dont even start it with me on that damn game............. :whistling:
I am 36 and cant stop playing it!............
I think i may need help..................
Brad just got it as well........comments Brad?

Yeah, I'm hooked. I think Tony could give a few of the You Tube videos a run for there money! I started last Tuesday when it came out for 360. I'm working my way through on medium after watching the boys play Thursday night. That was a lot of fun!

I picked it up on Saturday. I've gotten through all the songs on Medium, but the jump to Hard is too difficult for me yet. I'm going to practice and try to get 5 stars on all the songs on medium. Still got to master the hammer on and pull off.

Very fun game.

Another hurf/jam session should be in the works soon.
After the sound system gets fixed, we should do it again.
