Guilty Pleasures/Secret Treasures

1. Quorom Robustos go for 25 bucks for a bundle of 20 sticks. Cheap but full flavored smoke from Nicaragua. No complexity to the smoke at all but the draw, ash and taste is very consistant. A good everyday smoke.

2. Robert Mondovi label cigars, not bad, cute bands

1. Don Felo Felitos. A small handmade from Honduras, by Hecho A. Mano. For when I don't have time. Another is Hoja De Nicaragua Petits. It's a pretty good little smoke. 2. Onyx Reserve Mad. Bel  .

Two part question:
1) What do you like to smoke that's gonna make the rest of us laugh at you?
2) What do you like to smoke that we may have never heard of or that isn't discussed much?

Great questions; I like to smoke premiums / ISOM's as much (more?) than the next guy, but that's not all that's in the humi / cooler....

Yuk it up all you guys want, but I've got some of these in the humi, too. Get a few months on them and they are pretty darn good "yard gars". Yes, "hecho a mano" means made by hand and yes, jjsmoke made a "faux paus". Bet he never makes that mistake again.....

...no, I'm not buying any more.... :p

Question 2 is more interesting. Been blasting through the LaLuna LHB's and their new "Series R" in the torp and their little "Colada" size (about 4 X 40-ish). LaLuna's have for me have always been very well constructed, great tasting smokes. I like them a lot; the little colada is the perfect, "I'm in a hurry" smoke which sums up most weeknights around here. Other good ones for the $$ are the Jose L Piedra "Cazadore" and the Quinteros "Brevas" if you let them get some time on them. MMade....yes. ISOM....yes. Taste great for about $3.00 / ea....no doubt.

1) Acid - Kuba Kuba and Liquid. So much tingle for the tongue!

2) Everyone knocks Black-and-milds, however I have a different take on them. Growing up around Chicago, Black-and-milds are popular among the gangster crowd (not the Capone type). They do what is called "Freakin'" the Black-and-mild. I had a few friends that were part of that crowd, so I caught onto to doing it as well.
You unwrap the cigar, but save the cello. Take it between your fingers and massage the tobacco out of it into the cello. Once you have gotten rid of all the tobacco, you gently pull the tubo wrapper out of the plastic piece. Roll the tube again, slightly tougher, and unstick the binder from the wrapper. Pull the binder out of the tube (sadly, the binder looks like cardboard). Gently place the tube back into the mouthpiece, and begin filling it with the tobacco. To pack it back down, you can tap the mouthpiece on a table or something and just continue to refill. The taste tends to be much, much better (although it does require some effort).

Looking at this post, perhaps admitting that I like Black-and-milds makes my #2 work for #1 as well.

some effort? sheesh man that is damn near close to work IMHO. Not to mention the fact that that is the first time I have heard of removing tobacco from a cheap cigar only to put the original tobacco back in and not...ya know...other..."tobacco".

edited for dumb spelling.

I thought about going back and adding the "If you so choose to insert optional smoking material, do so at this time", but I well let others come to that conclusion. ;)

Why would anyone want to waste ...ya know..."other"...tobacco on a Black-and-Mild? :whistling:

:p
