Guideline for a good password

One other pice of advice:

Make it a password you can remember and save yourself some annoyance!

We outgrew a shared server a couple years ago. I'm confident in our security.

Some hints (from the Internet) how to build a good password:

It should never:

be an entry in a dictionary (of any language)
be trivial like "ABC"
include your own (nick-)name or the name of any member of your family.....

Let me add to that one...

Please do not make your password the name of a family pet.

and add this..
Please dont write your password on a sticky that is stuck to your monitor
or a sticky attached to the underside of your keyboard
or for that matter written in pencil on your keyboard
or even written on a card inside your top desk drawer.

I have seen these examples way to many times at customer locations to even count. You'd honestly shake your head in disbelief at how many times I have asked a client to put in their password and they say OH its 12345.

In todays world Identity theft can screw you up big time.
