Gran Torino - Eastwood

I'm thinking of seeing it again during the week while all the masses have to work. Its one of the best movies Hollywood has put out in many years. Sure, there is plenty of movies I enjoyed but this one I want to get a copy of it today and know I will have to wait some time before it comes out on DVD. If you haven't seen this movie, then you are missing out on a great experience. Even if you don't like Eastwood as an actor, this one may change your opinion.

Absolute best work Eastwood has done in over 10 years at least. I went to see with the wife and my parents tonight. This should get serious consideration for best picture, best actor and best director for 2009, not to mention best supporting awards. If you have any question in your mind, go see it!

I cant talk the wife into going to see it. She wants to see Twilight instead....

Well, I saw Gran Torino again and I'm still amazed at out good it is. If there is any movie you would regret not seeing, this would be the one. I have never gone back to see a movie twice in the theater, but I did for this movie. Thats just how good it is.

I just saw it tonight with the wife. It is a fantastic movie. The downside: She said she wants to put me in a home when I get old because she thinks I'm gonna be a grumpy old marine sitting on the porch with a gun and a cigar :0

Tell her the nurses better be hot so you can be a grumpy old man sitting on the porch with a arsenal, cigars, and grabbing the nurses ass when you tell her about your war injury you took to the shoulder.

I remember my dad doing that to some young lady and it was funny as hell. I used it as well and had a good result.

I saw it... it was great. All the off-hand comments he had and the names he would call people to their face was hilarious. After the movie my wife looked at me with a serious face and said, "You're not going to be like that when you get old are you?"

My wife said that seeing that movie gave her a glimpse of what I'll be acting like at Clint's age.

Now get me a beer, Dragon Lady

all the young focks were piling out as soon as the credits came up. Wife and I sat there for the whole thing, and yeah, we enjoyed hearing Clint try to sing - its not the first time. He better get at least Oscar nominated for this one.

Correct you are, Bruce. I heard him do an interview on NPR last month where he discussed his 60's singing career. Here's his discography from wiki in case anyone wants to track down the mp3s:

Eastwood is also a musician, pianist and composer. He composed the film score to the 2007 film Grace is Gone and original piano compositions for In the Line of Fire.

I saw this movie today. This is one of those films that you walk out of the movie theater saying to yourself 'How could that have been any better?' Best film I've seen since No Country for Old Men. Eastwood's character makes Archie Bunker look like Mr. Rogers.

I finally got around to watching it just now and I thought it was the best movie I have seen in a really long time. I will be watching it again tomorrow in the comfort of my living room...
