Jeff

Sam the Man
Puro ManIf snailer is not received from Bob by 6pm EST on Sunday he will be removed from the pass and Pepe will go in his place. I'll send you a message Pepe and let you know when the time comes, I appreciate your patience. Ok fellas, stay tuned for next post, in a few minutes to see what's gonna' be in the box!!!Ryan

Ok, men, get out your beach towels and lay them in your laps! I think I've put together a #### fine selection here for my first pass (if I do say so myself)!!! So, without any further B/S here 'tis:Cohiba Robusto (DOM)
HDM Churchill Natural and Maduro
HDM Excalibur Nat
Punch Punch Natural and Maduro
Macanudo Hyde Park
La Gloria Cubana Hermoso
Punch Gran Cru Robusto
Rafael Gonzales PC ISOM
Monte #2 ISOM
Cohiba Esplindidos ISOM
Bolivar Coronas JR ISOM
Partagas Connaisseur No2 ISOM
Partagas Short ISOMNot a bad haul, tried to put a variety pack in there of vitolas, brands, wrappers and countries - including this island everyone seems to like :^) Hope you enjoy it when it gets to you, this is gonna' be great!
I know I don't need to say it, but just for the sake of fair play - even trades please. Don't take 2 ISOMs and put back 2 Thompsons!!! This is not fair to yourself, me or the rest of the guys in the pass. Take as many, or as few, as you like but leave smokes of equal or greater value in return. After all it's all about trading and getting to try new stuff anyway! I know I probably didn't need to post this part but I feel better having said my piece!!! Everyone.......get ready....she's going out Monday regardless of #### or high water!!!!!
Ryan

Aw shucks Bigworm can I just tak out 1 ISOM and put in 1 thompsons LOL. Congrats on putting together your first pass here at Cigar Pass , We'll try and be gentle with ya. Great line up of cigars . I am waitin with baited breath

huhuhuhu... I have my "puts" set aside in my humidor already, I can't wait for it to make it to my front door! BTW, big worm, what are you sending them in?

LMAO vern!!! Hey, lets just say ISOM's are 2 to 1 for Thompsons!!! So PLEASE take 2 ISOMs and PLEASE leave 1 thompson for the rest of us, boy they're hard to find!!!!! LMFAO Glad everyone likes the lineup so far. As far as the packaging goes: I'm open to suggestions and tips so please send 'em over. But what I had lined up was standard Tupperdor, ziplocks, smokes and soap dish creedo. Anyone have any better ideas for the creedo? I'm not real happy with this one and have been searching for alternatives. Also packed in bubble wrap to keep the smokes from getting mauled and peanutted inside a larger box. ANy ideas please let me know you won't hurt my feelings!!! I'm trying to make this a safe and fun pass for all!Ryan

Hey send it to me first I have lots of them rare thompsons ta trade and I'll make sure your creedo thing is fine. Make sure not to over fill the credo.Don't forget CPI.
Let the games begin.........

Hi Bigworm! All I can say in the way of tupperware - is that is had better be pretty BIG! :) I also have my puts picked out and ready to go. Air freight delivered a nice Christmas in July present to me today, so there is DEFINITELY going to be several ISOMs put into the box as it passes through North Carolina! ;) I smoked two of the different ISOMs back to back and then lit up a Ashton VSG Sorceror! I had to just put the  VSG down because my eyes were starting to cross! LOL  Seriously, it sounds like you are on the right track with your box in a box. Credo is a must, and bubble wrap seem to work well - from reading other posts of in progress passes. My only suggestion for everyone is that cigars without wrappers should be wrapped in Saran Wrap to keep from damaging the cigars during transit. ;)Thompsons for ISOMs...what a tough crowd! After this pass gets started Monday it will be easy to find me in my town. I will be the person sitting beside the mailbox in a lounge chair, wearing sunglasses, and smokin' a stogie! I made a trip to JR's today, and along with my "Christmas present in July" delivery...I think that I have some super duper smokes to add to the box!!! :)CAN'T WAIT! LOL :o

Now that we are starting the pass soon (Wahoo) don't we move into the "passes in progress?" Also, how many times around does the pass go? When do we complete the pass? If anyone could let me know, tht would be great.

Big Worm has yet to receive one snailer from one of the first people to ask to join in! He also has one person over the 10 person limit, asking to join in, so either way this thing will kick off the first of the week. When he has finalized the tenth person...and gotten the box packed and ready to mail...then it can be moved to the in progress forum.Pass only goes around one time. Big Worm will start the ball rolling, since he is the pass Captain, and initiator of this pass. This is a "Grab Bag" pass, so unlike regular passes, the order of the pass will be determined by a random drawing of passers, which I guess will be included with the box. The box progresses from one passer to another, until the last of the nine people in the line up gets the pass. They will then return the pass back to the person starting the pass...Big Worm! This will end the pass. Everyone will get to try new and different cigars! General Rules:Use USPS Priority Mail, with a confirmation number.
Post online when the box is received...so that everyone will know where the box is. VERY IMPORTANT
Post your "Takes" and your "Puts" online also!
Post the confirmation number of the shipment so that everyone will know that the box has left each passer, and is on the way to the next person on the list.<<<I would recommend that all new people take a look at SHADOW'S postings for in progress passes, because he does the best job of anyone on any website!!! He posts the condition of the box, cigars, Credo, takes, puts, and his shipping confirmation number, usually on one neatly typed post! A real class act!>>> ;)Another "unofficial" rule that EVERYONE sticks to is: take an ISOM (Cuban) - put an ISOM back into the box!Wrap cigars without cellophane in plastic wrap to prevent damage during transit...or else someone will receive pipe tobacco! :biggrin:Passers should not keep the pass over three days - MAX! I personally am going to get the box back out the same day or the next day at the very latest! Keeping the box over 3 days is very poor.Passers can keep the box over a weekend and ship it out on Monday, if they receive it late on Friday, if Big Worm agrees! Saturday shipping is possible of course.Puts and Takes: No hard and fast rule - except put in the same or better quality as you take out. Again common courtesy. Secondly, take as many as you like, but put in as many as you take out minimum! Most people put in several more than they take out. No hard and fast rule, except that you don't put back less than you take out...EVER! IMO you should treat the people in Cigar Pass like you would your best friend, because most of these people ARE going to be your best friends...sooner or later! BE GENEROUS! BE CONSIDERATE! SHIP QUICKLY! Finally, if you are going to be gone or if an emergency arises, contact Big Worm and let him know if you are not going to be able to be home to receive the box! You wouldn't want a box of YOUR cigars sitting on your front doorstep for several days unattended! Right? :oMost of all....have fun, make friends, and smoke great cigars! STEPS DOWN OFF OF HIS PULPIT! :biggrin:Did I forget anything???

whoaaaa (mouth wide open) !!! Sam, you are da' man! I couldn't have said it better myself if I had tried!!! Are you SURE you haven't done this before???? LMAO!!! ANyway, that was dead on target and the box WILL go out Monday with 10 players as Pepe is on standby and , right now, it's looking favorable for him to be in the pass. I have his snailer and will contact him after 6pm EST tomorrow.
One thing I'd like to be VERY CLEAR on..... There will be a ziploc bag full of all of our address labels, I will draw one out to see who gets it first then seal the bag back up and put it in the box. If you're the lucky contestant, you'll receive the box and do the pee-pee dance! POst here and let everyone know you've received the box ASAP, please! Then, you'll do your puts and takes, write them down on the log book that will be in the box, open the address ziploc and draw out a name. VERY IMPORTANT!!!! DO NOT TELL WHO'S NAME YOU'VE DRAWN! That's the beauty of this pass! Seal the box back up and put the label on it and mail it via USPS Priority Mail, insured and with delivery confirmation. Very important that all these things are done so that noone gets screwed! Then, sometime during that day, post again with your puts and takes, delivery confirmation number, condition of box/smokes/creedo/etc and anything else you'd like to share. Then sit back and relax 'cuz you're the only one who knows where it headed!!!!! I love it!!!!
It's also common courtesy to do any necessary maintenance to the box, creedo, packing, smokes, etc while it is in your possesion if necessary.Hmmmmmm, bleive dats it!Later gators,Ryan

Almost forgot, I have already contacted Gil and let him know that the pass WAS MOVING OUT on Monday, so move us to In Progress then. Soooooo, if we're not in open passes forum, y'all will know where to look.See ya!

Ok, just one more thing and I'll shut up. Probably what I'll do is put a blank floppy in the box instead of a log book. It'll have all the original cigars posted at the top. Somewhere underneath put your name and post puts and takes. Then update the original list on the top. Next person do the same, but only erase the cigars on the original list that you have taken and add the ones you put. Is that confusing? I tried to make it simple and easy.

Hey i jus ordered me a box of dem spensive Thompsons ta trade fer dem coobans.dey cos me bout eattean buks
wit sheppin an ize hops ya all lik em

i would suggest a log-book instead of a floppy disc. major compatability problems, bonehead computer users (i top that list), and murphy's law. the pass probably won't be half over before logging puts and takes is a lost cause.

I think a log book would be better too. A floppy could ruin or break and a log book won't; just MO.
