Got an odd one for you

I own/operate a small nutrition shop. For the most part my vendors are sweethearts. It's a great industry to work in with lots of great people. Not unlike the fraternity of cigar smokers. However there are bad apples in every bunch and I'm dealing with one right now. I used to order from them and sell their product well until they started to piss me off with unethical business tactics that I won't go into here. The gist of it is they call me several times a week no matter what I tell them even though I haven't placed an order with them in years. It's a boiler room type of operation and I gather the sales people are forced to call every retailer whether we are receptive or not. I've told them multiple times I will never do business with them again. I've told them to F off. I've hung up on them without saying a word. I can't ignore their calls because their caller id comes through as unknown caller. How convenient.

Being that I am a business and not a residence I'm not eligible for the no call list or anything like that. At the least it's a major annoyance. At the most it's a pain in my ass and waste of my time. Does anyone know of a way I can get these a-holes off my back? I'm open to anything that won't land me in jail.

Contact the Better Business Bureau and contact the states attorney about a 'do not call' list.

You sure about that? When I was a stock broker, all the leads I called were to businesses. If someone told us to place them on our DNC list, we had to. Our company kept an internal DNC list. When we got new lead sources, we were supposed to run through the computer, and anyone on our list was pulled, then printed up.

You may not be eligible for the gov't DNC list, be they may have one internally.
 
Do you know who owns the company? If so call him repeatedly twice a day for two weeks in a row telling him that his tactics are unappreciated. Does he belong to a trade association? If so start informing them of his tactics. I would also contact the attorney general of the state he does business in and file a complaint. There are more things you can do, if he comes to NJ we can take him for a ride in the pine barrens :D

I'll be in your neck of the woods in September if all goes well.

Or tell them "yes I am very interested in buying from you" and ask to meet a sales rep for dinner (at the restaurant of your choice) to talk about the product line and don't show up ........ do this enough times they won't want to talk to you anymore.
 
As always you guys rock! I never thought of any of the fine suggestions here. Think I'll start with trying to contact the big cheese. If that doesn't work it's off to the Trade Association, BBB, and States AG. If all else fails I'm turning to Anthony for the Pine Barrens!

Somehow get them added to every porn site available and go from there.
 
A sharply worded cease and desist letter alluding to a harrassment claim against them works most of the time. :whistling:
 
I would simply ask to speak to the Director of sales, or Chief Operating Office the next time that they call you. Explain the situation to this person, let them know that you are unhappy with their products or services or what ever your issue is with them. I would also let them know that his sales team is calling you over and over again even after you told them not too call anymore. Be civil and forceful and I would bet you will see the results that you are looking for. If they will not put you in touch with this person, tell them you want to make a large purchase but you will only do so with a person who can correct your previous bad experience with them. (this is of course just to get the right person on the line)
