Alright. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything... I'm moving to San Francisco for school in a couple of weeks, and wanted to know if there are any good places to smoke up there... preferably someone that doesn't mind Por Larranaga smoke

Thanks in advance,
Stephen

Hmmm...

I could be wrong but, I do believe, you can no longer smoke cigars in the city of San Francisco. You
can have brotherly love but, you can't smoke a cigar afterwards. Oh, and I think they charge your
cigars a "tax" entrance fee to come into the city but, you can't smoke them.

On the other hand.... pot smoking and inhaling is completely legal and encouraged in the city.
You can buy pot almost everywhere and there is no tax.

The above is just something that I have been told in passing. Take it or leave it... :whistling:

Cheers...

There are a few places, do a search on 'occidental' and you should find the list. Shoot me a PM when you get up here, I live a bit North but we herf a fair amount.

30 minutes south and you will find the great Seanholio and a little place he took me to called Santana Row.
Holy crap!!!!

Also in San Jose is another b&m Sean turned me onto called West Coast cigar.

I will be in Azucar later this week. Hope you are still there.

This could be a meeting where it would pay to be a fly on the wall listening to very knowledgeable BOTL.

Stephen, also check out:

Grant's Tobacconists on Market Street, Down Town SF
Burlingame Tobacconists in Burlingame

Both are great places to have a smoke.

thanks for the responses. I just got my apartment yesterday, moving in today... I went down to Grant's yesterday, nice selection, but you can't sit and smoke until 5 p.m.. and to kiltlad, yeah, you're wrong. You can't smoke in public parks, but I was still allowed to smoke my cigar at the wine bar patio yesterday(which is more liberty than Rancho Cucamonga...).

When I'm in downtown SF I actually like to sit outside and smoke my cigars. There are benches everywhere and it's nice to sit and watch people.

Also the Occidental Cigar Bar and Grill is an awesome place. Love the live music and they have really good garlic fries too. Get there early though cause it gets packed quick. Oh and bring your own smokes, their humidor is small and lacks variety. Nevertheless, it's good if your need a quick smoke.

This is one of the best spots in SF for a cigar:

I absolutely hated this place... I went there the first weekend I was here... When you call yourself the cigar bar and grill, usually that means that your clientele would be cigar aficionados. So I packed up some diplomatic Trinidads from the mid 90's some opus, and of course Por Larranagas.. I walked like 30 blocks to get to a place packed with a bunch loud ass people smoking cigarettes. I counted two other people smoking cigars..

The occidental is pretty cool, though.
