Who knows the correct procedure?

This picture shows my ball laying on the cart path On a par 5. The green is 220 yards away, sort of under the sun in the upper right hand corner of the picture.

Nearest point of relief from the cart path, no closer to the hole. I'm not sure if relief means you can move the ball enough that you don't have to stand on the cart path, though, so that would probably dictate whether you go to the right or left.

Yes it does, best I remember complete relief includes stance. I posted a decent video above.

I belief in this case nearest would be on the right side of the path.
