What cigar pairs well with a gin and tonic (currently Bombay Sapphire and Canada Dry, although Tanqueray Rangpur Lime is next on my list)? I assume it would be something lighter in body, maybe a natural wrapper? Thanks in advance.

Optional: For y'all pipe smokers, what blend would you recommend smoking with said G&T?

I dunno Phil, I think it's kind of hard to say. I don't drink much (in spite of what sid says ) and on the rare occasions that I do, I find that a full bodied cigar, a Cuban cigar or a nice maduro goes well with a rum drink, a gin drink or scotch.

In my case, I don't like lighter bodied cigars nor do I like non-Cuban, natural wrapped cigars so I wouldn't say that they'd "pair" well with anything.

Smoke what you like and drink what you like.

HDM #2 goes great with vodka and tonic.

I do not drink gin, so maybe yes. maybe no.

I remember I was smoking Iguana Candela and it was not too good. I took some gin & tonic and that was a nice mix, the taste get really better. I also had gin & tonic with 2 or 3 other candela cigars and I think its the best conection - gin + tonic + green cigar :)

I had a Tatuaje Red from Sept 06 with a Martin Miller's Hemingway (that's a G&T with Martin Miller's gin and a dash of bitters). It paired pretty well.

I like G&T's now that the weather is warm, and I have yet to find a cigar that didn't go well with a G&T.....

Cheers - B.B.S.

I like g&t and vodka and gin martinis, but for me, they don't pair well with cigars.

Doc.

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. Looks I got a lot of research to do. Life really is tough sometimes.

Love gin and tonic, my favorite drink when I go to bars. Never thought of pairing it with a cigar though. Good question. I've also been wanting to try the Tanqueray Rangpur also.

For me, G&T (Bombay) goes well with the HdM #2 and RyJ Short Churchill; especially in the warm tropics of Singapore!

If what you light up doesn't go well with the drink at first finish up the drink and make another one... with less tonic! Bet it won't matter much after a couple tries ;)
