Get a free cigar from my next box

Although I love Padron's X000 series, how about Arturo Fuente Double Chateau or Carlos Torano 1916 churchill or Joya de Nicaragua Antano churchill?

Love the Double Chateau - Finished my last a couple of weeks ago. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if everyone voted for it.

Padron 5000 maduros.
Now that I think about it, I think Jim does offer some of the higher end Padrons in 10ct boxes. They should be around your price point, too.

It will be next to impossible to get you a "Great" churchill size cigar for $105 a box. It would have to be pretty much a lucky find. I think Kristoff makes a very good churchill size stick, but there's that price point thing...Sorry. :whistling:

I just mentioned the Churchill and maduros as my favorite, go-to vitos and wrappers. But I'm going with the majority choice no matter size, wrapper, etc. The only requirement is that the cost is no more than $105 and I get at least 10 cigars.

Regarding the price point, I think there are plenty of excellent, if not great cigars, that can be had for ten and half bucks a stick - which is the average cost per stick for a 10 count box selling for $105.

Even before I posted this invitation, I suspected that the group favorite would be some kind of Padron. So, the vote leaders so far:

Padron Londres - 2
Padron 2000 - 2
Little Monster - 2

BTW, to qualify for the free cigar prize, please specify brand, model, specific size. I know the prize isn't that glamorous and my first thought was to offer an Olympic laurel wreath as the prize, but after testing, decided it didn't smoke so good. Besides, a free cigar is a free cigar.

If you nominate several, then I'll count the first mentioned if you aren't specific about which one you like best.

It's hard to beat the Padron X000 series for the price...way better than Fuente's similar price point cigars.

But given what you said in your opening post...the Ortega Series D sticks are a tough one to beat right now for the money and especially now since he added a natural wrapper to the line. His initial offering of those Maduros are great tasting cigars...a little 'Padron Anni 64 like'.

On another note, I like your offer of giving away the first cigar in the box. My uncle taught me to give that first cigar away in every new box as a way to promote good will and make new cigar friends...kinda like a 'blessing' to the new addition to your cigar collection. I have done that with every box I've purchased over the last 30+ years and will not smoke one out of a new box until I have the opportunity to give that first cigar to a friend or stranger. Being here at CP has made that a lot easier with the usage of USPS....:)

Gotta go with the Padron Londres. x000's are the stick you never get tired of. I've had boxes of recent 2000's, 3000's, and 5000's and the Londres gives them all a run for the money. In fact the last box of 3000's I had was sort of "meh" while the last box of Londres are just on....and smoking very, very well.

Natural or maduro? What's your preference?

I think you are forgetting about the search for the mythical white whale, which should have four votes now, I believe... :D

I love this, I have typically given away at least one cigar from every box I have bought, but never the first one and never really on purpose. I am going to make a habit of this, thanks for sharing the wise insight from your uncle.

The box I have now are the Maduro's.....and, they are smoking amazingly well for a smoke at that price point.....

Having seen your price point, I would vote Padron 2000 maduros.

To IronPeddle, who has been consistently helpful since I joined CP, thanks for the story about your Uncle. Regardless of who wins, you and I will smoke one out of the box in his honor.

The Padron Londres Maduro gets my vote. Like BBS said, it is a great cigar for the price!

Its Double Ligero 452 not 425. can be had well within your price range. The Aganorsa leaf comes in boxes of 15 for less than 90.00 bucks with a little lookin

Yes it is. I just checked his current price list and it's a lot cheaper. I'm not sure if I can post his prices, but it's a bargain.

Two things: where is the best price on these? and I like that give a stogie away thing- Cool!

I'm under the impression that Jim's prices for CP are special and not to be published. Could be wrong. I was at his store at the Westmoreland mall in Greensburg, PA last week. The prices in the store were higher than than offered us.I did pick up Padron 1964 and a MyFather while I was there. Appears he spends much of his time at a hooka store he also owns.

Izzy at Uptown had some of the Ortegas. I will be getting another box soon from him in the near future. PM keystoneraider for best prices on Padrons.

I guess since you are not up for a challenge, I'll throw my hat in the Padron Londres ring, as well.
