Man .... I make a lot less than that [d@mn college work-study]
Gotta say tho, $800 for a box of Opus X is friggen ridiculous! H3ll, they're more like half as much or even less whenever I've seen them in stores.
As for gas, more like $2.25 around here.
My simple justificaiton is the joys of life.
A movie ticket is up to $8 or so by me. So if I want to take a girl out to see a movie, it means to watch a film for 2 hours and eat salty popcorn runs $25 or so.
Now, there's nuthin' wrong with that. But, for the same $8 to see a movie by myself that has a decent chance of sucking, I can sit down, read a great book and smoke an awesome cigar for the same 2 hour period.
My general price range is from $2.50 store-brands up to $15 super-premiums. Have purchased a few cigars higher than that range, but they have all been moderatly rare and very tasty.
and if you really want to get into it, if you go by the real purchasing power of the dollar, today's prices are not the higest. there were times back in the 80s with much higher 'real' prices.
and if you live in europe, prices are a lot higher than here.
