I can't understand it...$800 bucks for a frikin box of cigars. Wow. I can't justify that...I just can't. I spend between $150-$200 per box, I might dig deep and splurge on a '97 box of Party 8-9-8's...but that's a stretch.

How many poor shlobs out there are like me? Blue collar hero...making $17/hr. looking at these sticks like they are some fine, high class model...and then saunter up to her and rejected 'cause you don't have enough $$$...

I'm happy with my plain janes...low maintenance, always there after a hard day at work...

So I was wondering if some of you high rollers out there can tell me, why?

I'm quite sure that my money won't go towards an opus anytime soon...I would much rather go for the Cuaba Diademas...

Now, that's worth $25 bucks a stick.

I had a problem getting past your gas for $1.97 a gallon. In my part of the country regular unleaded is $2.49 a gallon.

As far as Opus for that insane price...you will NOT see any in my humidor...PERIOD.

When the fools that pay that kind of money quit doing it then maybe the price of some smokes will come back to earth.

I spend too much on Scotch and Bourbon so I tend to smoke things that are in the middle of the scale cost wise.

$1.97 Indianapolis Indiana...I can do one better. The last time I filled up was April 21, I still have a hair under a half tank. Thankfully, work is just a mile away, the sitter is 4 blocks away from work.

Ahhh...
I love reporting that.

I am hoping to go a whole month between fill-ups. I might just make it too. Next week, I am going to seattle for a week. Some might call that cheatin...but a month is a month.

Hey AVB, I need a really good scotch to get for my Fiancee's boss. I like the guy, not love 'em...so please keep your advice to top shelf can-get-at-most-places kinda scotch.

Thanks...
Rob

Viper is right..down south from him it is 250ish a gallon..in Baker, Ca it is 3 bucks a gallon

I got caught on the $1.97 a gallon for gas.
Gas hasn't been under $2.oo a gallon in years here.
Opus can be found for $10- $12 per

Bill

mahalo wam...I'll send you $15 bucks...mebbe you can send me 1 ana half eh?

I don't pay crazy prices for Opus X. I like the taste of these cigars so to me, they are worth the money. ;)

Fuente Fuentes, Perfecxion #5. I've also got a few Reserva D'Chateau and some Super Belicosos but I'd say the Fuente Fuentes are my favorite.

I'm burning a '92 La Corona PC...great ceegars ghost! Pacers won!

erm... where are you seeing a box of Opus for $800? It must either be something that is being resold by a gouger, or you're buying 'em off of the Vegas Strip ;)

I'd recommend something from The Balvenie. YOu can get the 12yo, 15yo, or 21yo depending on how much you are looking to spend. Should be easily available at most liquor stores

Thanks for the suggestion Fast...AVB pm'd me with a cool link. Thanks again..

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest, the gas price "prision rape" capital of the US.... :D My VW TDI diesel costs $2.57 a gallon to fill....on a good day. My consolation is that the VW sips slowly; I get about 38+ in town and 45 or so on the highway. I figure it's better than most.....

I hear what you are saying about gars. I have a small collection of some treasured gars building in the cooler but I buy stuff that's a good deal when I find it. The daily smokes are very common names and most often the $2-3.00 each variety. I love a good splurge as much as the next guy (...really....:D ), but there are some very good relatively inexpensive smokes that are faves, too. Those are what you'll find me smoking, most often.

FWIW - B.B.S.

I gotcha on that blinded...BTW, Gas just dropped to $1.85 here in Indianapolis...well, on the 'burbs it is anyway. Still, average here is still $1.90 today.

On my way to Tacoma next weekend, need to strut my stuff out there...

Gas is 2.08 a gallon for me. But considering in the first post you said you make 17 an hour, you are killing me in the budget side!
