There is a local Fuente event coming up. Do they have a usual deal or throw-in they do?

It depends on the event and the store.

Usually stores will have an event highlighting a 'line' or a cigar.
Then they will sometimes have discounts on the makers products.

As for food and drink, that's usually up to the vendor.

What is the name of this event?

btw - there is no such thing as a 'throw-in' at these things! :(

I’ve attended a few of their events here, and at least the ones I have been to they don’t bring any rarities, or htf sticks with them. No Opus, Anejo, etc. I think it probably varies from store to store, but they usually have some type of buy 3-4 cigars, and get 1 free. The freebie is usually an 858 or a Chateau.

You'd figure they'd bring half the warehouse. Although Opus and Anejo are limited production, I'd be having them at every event as they're the flagship lines. Doesn't make any sense to me.

It depends on the vendor.

It may be a Fuente event...but is it a Fuente 'sponsored' event....or is the shop just looking to move product.

Also, the vendor may always call the rep to see what's available for HTF stock from the warehouse.

...edit - is this event tonights 'tasting'?

I am up at Jungle Jim's every Thursday night obmike and they have a Fuente event tonight.

Edit: They usually don't have any of the good stuff for sale (Opus, Anejo, etc). Just their regular production stuff.

Thanks for the response. I saw Jungle Jims changed the website to say "Grab Bag". Little out of my way for that.

With the Fuente event, you should be happy enough to be in their presence  From what I've heard about the Padron events, it's always the opposite

This makes sense. I guess you'd be more likely to find the HTF stuff if Carlito Fuente or Jorge padron were to be there.

At the Carlito event I went to he brought literally nothing worth mentioning. It was a little bit surprising tbh

By Fuente sponsored, I mean CFCF event. They usually add som e special stock to the event.

Now, I also know the the improtant part is your Rep. It's really about your B&M's relationship with them and the rep.

If Carlito shows up, well, he's shown up just because he's in town.

The only rare cigars that Carlito shows up with at an event are the ones he carries around in his pocket for himself.

...and if you're "the best cigar smoker in Nebraska" (I guess texas by now) he might give you a few.

Somehow the crazy bearded bastard was gifted, what is now called, "The Secret Stash". That humipouch in the corner of this pic was a full collection of Carlito personal smokes (plus that bbmf at the top center, I think). That mans personal blend is a helluva smoke.
