Hello all, i have made my first purchase of cigars today. I treated myself to 4 of them in hopes that i can enjoy them sometime soon in my leisure times.

Im not too sure on how to list the names of these as i am a virgin at this, but heres a go.

1. Gurkha (k. hansotia) it says leopold II des belges on a small gold star.
2. Padilla Habano Cabanna Cuba
3.Carlos Torano Casa Torano
4. Acid Hawg

there it is folks, im a newbie at this, so please be kind. Suggestions or advice is much appreciated.

Take the Acid and throw it away......

Best advice I can give ya. The others are good smokes.

Actually, smoke it, that way you'll know first hand to never buy another one. :D

Cheers
Shane

Welcome to CP Holland. If you're just starting out, it can be a lengthy and costly search to find the cigar(s) that you like. But it is a fun and entertaining ride that many knowledgeable members here @ CP will make even more fun and entertaining. If you chose to stick around CP, what you like now in cigars will most likely change in the coming months/years. In my short time here I have experienced many different types of cigars and am constantly expanding both my palate and knowledge. A great way to experience new cigars is the Newbie Sampler Thread located HERE. Sign up with any one of the outstanding brothers and you will sure to be treated to some outstanding smokes. Stick around and bask in the knowledge and commraderie that is CigarPass.

Everyone's gotta learn some way. Maybe he should give the Acid the ole college try...

I recommend smoking it last. See what it's like to smoke the others, then try it. Let us know how they go!

Such is our journey. Over the years, you might smoke a pallet of cigars to find the ones that will deliver just the right palette of flavors to satisfy your palate.

Just remember, don't store that acid with any other non-acid cigar. They'll ruin your others. Also, don't put em in your humidor if you only have one. Once that infusion gets into the wood, it'll be all over. If you do decide that you like the acids, I would suggest you get a container be it tupperware or a humi, which would be dedicated to just them. Good luck and enjoy the new experience. G1

If you buy what you like i don't see that as screwing up, The Acid, not too many guys like around here, flavored 'gars just aren't it, but like i said if you like them buy them. Drew Estates does have many other 'gars that aren't flavored but are nice smokes, give 'em a try, and by the way welcome aboard, it's a fun ride...........

He's just starting out, he may really like the Acid. I did for awhile.

My order of smoking would be this:

1) Gurkha
2) Padilla
3) Torano
4) Burning hair instead of the Acid cigar

Seriously, put the Padilla in the middle of the other good ones because it will give you some perspective on the others. Acid is an abomination...I would rather smoke burning hair.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Good advice kindly given by all here.....as usual.

My advice is Hell, try the Acid and as Khari said try it last.

I personally have never had one so I don't know. I don't pick my cigars by the bands but that dudes hair on the motorcycle gives me the creeps

Do the newbie trade on your next run. I promise you you will not regret it.

And you better start budgeting for a larger humi if you plan to stick around with us knuckleheads

haha thanks everyone for the great advice!

I will be smoking the acid first actually because i rather like flavored cigars. Although i am sick right now and dont want smoke in me. I am actually budgeting for a humi. I have a 100 ct humi in the mail that should be here very soon. I am loking forward to smoking the ghurkha though.

the reason i am smoking the acid is because its going to be the worst as listed here and i will see how much the other cigars impress me instead of going to the finer cigars with a lesser optimism of an attitude.

whats a mild cigar that i might find my taste in. I smoked a small cigar today ( i am sick and shouldnt have) and it was a very hot pull because it was skinny. I do not like the hot taste at all, maybe this is where i get my VERY disliked burning/spicy/tingly taste or feeling on the roof-back of throat and tip of tongue. I understand that a thicker cigar will provide more air flow and a cooler smoke. any suggestions for a mild brand for a young pallate?

Smoking acids will make you sick!

As for a mild suggestion, try A. Fuente Chateau Fuente (Green foot). If you don't like it, stick to the acids. ;)

Given that you didn't buy Grape White owls, you did very well! :)

Welcome to a wonderful world of exploration and discovery!

I'm editing to add this because I realized it was important: Don't make broad conclusions based on one or two experiences. If you smoke a cigar and don't like it, your tastes may change, you may have a "off" cigar, the cigar fairy may have buggered your palate. Don't write off a line or blender because of one or two bad experiences.

In short, keep and open mind. My .02 ;)
