FFOX Forbidden X

For $158 delivered I'd take a box of 25 Ramon Allones Specially Selected from an isom with a code from 2004 production - aged and ready to enjoy MANY more hours than 4 Forbidden X would. Then again we all value things differently..
Yeah, and we value people that put in the time and contributions to this site! Your opinion at this point has no merit! So we should value your judgment because you get more enjoyment from something that you bought illegally? Read more, and then read some more! You might just learn something!

Ten bucks too high, MSRP is $23.50

Brian

Yeah I think the FFOX Forbidden X Robusto can be found for $23.95 in a glass tube single version. Never seen the other ones for sale as singles though so I cannot say. Most sites have this listed for $150.

How do you know if he buys his cubans illegally? And his opinion is meritless simply because he hasn't been here long enough?

There were several posts about the price of this sampler and ashton (whom I do not know) stated that he'd rather have X than Y, then respectfully added "then again we all value things differently." Doesn't seem too offensive to me. The quote "lighten up, Francis" comes to mind.

But, what the hell do I know? I don't have very many posts on CP so my opinion is therefore worthless.

well, i do have alot of posts and have been here awhile and i will second your comments. since when did you have to be a fog to voice which cigars you like better than an opus x? since when did anyone's opinion have no merrit? do you realize how stupid that sounds? while ashton's comment was a bit off the beaten path in regards to this thread, it was not at all out of line, imho.

some of you guys that carry around a match and a can of gasoline need to take a deep breath.

Back on topic. If you take the price of the Prometheaus Gift set which is the Royal 8, Lancero, and Reserve D'Chateau which will run ya like $100 to $130 in B&M shops before and after taxes included generally. And substitute the Royal 8 with a BBMF and its still the same price. Only reason I buy those sets is to get the Lancero. So $133.50 for 4 Lanceros. I say thats a steal in my books. But its no secret that I love Opus X. :D

So if Joe blow prefers a RASS or any other stick, sobeit. Just means more Opus for me. :p And no, I am not taking cheap shots at anyone. Everyone has different preferences for smokes and that in itself, makes this a fun hobby indeed. :)

ON TOPIC:

Tower Cigars and Mark (owner) are top notch. I have smoked with him many times and he is truly a BOTL. The Opus he advertised are great smokes and his prices are reasonable. Anyone who is thinking about purchasing this or anything else (he has a great selection of Tatuaje) can do so without ANY reservations.

OFF TOPIC:

Newbies . . . learn when and where to post. Read more post less is always a good lesson to learn and remember. While your opinions may be suspect since you are new and unknown to this board, they are not without any merit and far from worthless. You recevied much of your bashing here due to the inappropriateness of your opinion in this thread.

I was always under the impression that authorized retailers weren't allowed to sell Opus on the net.

Is this no longer the case? Was it ever really?

As to the sampler...I've never had these, but if I had the cash I'd jump on one. All of the Opus I've had are quite good and I can't get them anywhere within 3 hours of my house.

yay on topic! Like Jason said this shop has a great rep locally. Thanks for the offer Wade but I think I should still probably wait till the Christmas shopping (read as: suffering while wife has credit card) is over. I can tell you from what I have seen, IF you want the holiday gift set this is the best price around.

I think that's generally the rule that OpusX aren't sold on the internet, not at MSRP anyways. But these are gift sets, so it's a completely different arena. I'd say these are more similar to the Platinum DVD or the Journey to Chateau de la Fuente gift sets.

That's what I'm gathering. The Prometheus sets are a whole different thing than regular line Opus. My confusion seems to be cleared.

By and by, I wasn't trying to put down this vendor. I've never used them and don't know anything other than what has been discussed in this thread. I apologize if it came across that way...

Hey Guys, I am the one that posted the special at stogie chat.

I wanted to offer these cigars to the board and I was sure that it would make it to others.

MSRP for the Forbidden X Series Robusto 4pk is $150.00 and I was offering it at a lower price. We have never carried these particular sets before.

We have been in business for close to 40 years and I almost 15 in the business and I am only 34. We have made a reputaion for treating our customers with respect and offering a fair price.

If you like cigars and like to talk about cigars please call me, I would love to hear your stories! 888 823 8466

California Customers please send me a private message I would love to talk to you about a certain issue!!

Going back to one of the initial questions - is this a reputable vendor? I have had many dealings with Tower Cigars and Mark and IMHO, Mark runs as much of a stand-up, first rate operation as anyone out there. He is reputable beyond reproach!

Just bought some Stanford 90th's about 2 weeks ago and they arrived fast and safe. Would order from him again anytime.

Found this FFOX Forbidden X 4 pack listed at Towercigar.com for $133.50 with free shipping since it's over $100. Could give someone a very nice Christmas. :whistling:

I was at one of my BM today and he told me that he is supposed to be getting these in. When he does he is selling them for $149.99 each (pack of 4).

I asked about Anejo's and he is getting them in next week. If he does I'll see what I can do to snag some. Last year I bought what was left in his last box for $13.50 a stick of the 55's. A little high but not too bad.

I'll post in another thread if this happens.

Yeah I think the FFOX Forbidden X Robusto can be found for $23.95 in a glass tube single version. Never seen the other ones for sale as singles though so I cannot say. Most sites have this listed for $150.

Off topic, but do you take these Opies out of their glass tube to store them? I bought the Chateau de la Fuente gift set and I've scratched my head a bit thinking about how they should rest in my humi.

I keep mine stored in the glass tube with no problems.

I have plenty of Opus X in glass tubes and they do just fine in the humidor. It wouldnt hurt them by taken them out either so whatever your preference is. I do have to say I did have a Opus Forbidden X Reserve D'Chateau that tasted funny but its hard to say why it did.

I smoked a forbidden X while vacationing in Las Vegas. Very good stick but I should have bought a few to rest in the Humi.
