Granted...I've not shot one myself, but I imagine I could hold my own better than this poor girl:

Skinny Chick VS IAI Desert Eagle

Safe for work...although the woman is wearing a bikini top.

Edited to add: And the guy is wearing a t-shirt with a curse word on it.

The video brought about a small smile, but his comment brought out a bigger one;

"For those who are in other countries and continue to make the "stupid American" comment: Are you from the country who's ass we saved or the country who's ass we kicked?"

It doesn't seem to want to load for me but based on the comments I can guess what happened.

That's just irresponsible gun ownership. That woman will have a flinch the rest of her life. I've never understood why some men have this need to do that sort of thing.

Meh!

Hollywood gun

Give me my 1911 anyday
Funny clip though, reminds me of this medic I was instructing on the 9mm range, same thing happened to her. She did go on to fire expert, the only shot she missed was the first one that caused the pistol to break her nose, she finished the course of fire and then treated herself.

Cool Chick! (the medic)

I used to have a Marlin 45-70 Guide Gun that an ex girlfriend begged me to let her shoot. I got tired of the arguments after awhile and let her shoot it. The load was a little hotter than a factory, but not too hot.....

Then she bitched me out for letting her shoot it.

Here take this .454 Casull that I hot loaded the rounds for, and shoot it...

And I'm not going to bother to show you proper stance or how to hold it either, don't worry it wont hurt you...

 That guy needs to be pistol whipped.

When I saw her stance (especially her elbows), and then the tongue action as she was getting ready to squeeze the trigger I knew it wasn't gonna be pretty. When I take people to the range we start with what my niece calls "bullet class" before we go. It's a quick thirty minute rundown of what happens from the round's point of view, the gun's point of view, and the shooter's point of view. I disassemble my carry (SIG P226 in .40) and show them the major parts and how they interact. They learn the meaning of the word deflagrate. And then when we're at the range, everybody -- and I mean everybody -- starts with a Walther P22 (chambered in .22LR) and works up from there; with very close supervision. There is no place for macho on my line. And there sure as hell isn't any place for ignorant or stupid, either.

:D But I love the ass kick quote, too.

X4. I've taught several ladies to shoot, including the daughter of a buddy. We start at the kitchen table, learning how the guns work, how to ensure they aren't loaded, how to handle them, and what a proper sight picture looks like. We get familiar with the hardware and answer all the questions there. At the range I start with my little Walther .22. Once that's mastered, I have a .357 revolver that shoots .38 specials very nicely. If that gets boring, we can load .357's in the same gun. Etc, etc....more times than not, by the end of the range session, they want to give the .44 Mag a try. After working up to it, knowing what to expect, and being taught the right way to do things, they do very well.

Be safe out there, gentlemen - B.B.S.

Edit - Dang, WhiteAshes, sounds like great minds think alike.....

It's a shame that he let his wife do that. If he had any concern for his wife he wouldn't have let her shoot that weapon.

The guy that handed her the weapon is a tool. He gives weapons instructors a bad name.

guys a fucking idiot and should be banned from the range. i diots like him are the reason we have a lot of the stringent laws we do.

As a gun enthusiast, I am appalled by all of those macho ass hats who introduce new shooters with big-bore. heavy recoil, firearms. If we want to maintain a strong shooting tradition in this country, we need to introduce new shooters to these sports incrementally. New/young shooters need exposure to the kind of shooting that builds excitement and interest, not fear and pain.

**Edit to add, it is still a funny video and illustrates not everyone should have a gun  **
