Double D's smoking room...

Ok Dale's room started out as a completely open room attached to the side of his house on top of the garage. He decided to put in windows on the open side and put up a new wall to the back storage area. This is the back right corner and the blanket is covering the hole where the door is going, up in the right hand corner is the round hole for the exhaust fan.

Here is the first of the windows and the first part of the large triple windows on the right side facing in.

The triple windows that can be opened completely up in the summer and the start of the paneling we put up together.

Close up of the paneling, each slat needs to be cut and fashioned separately and attached to slats placed on the wall beforehand.

We still have a lot of work in front of us, including all the trim and the floor. but we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Also since the door went it its finally warm enough to herf in without freezing the family jewels off

Well I wasnt planning on posting pics of my house in its current shape. But what shawn stated is true all and all in the end it will cost about 10,000 which is more than I intended to spend but I believe in doing things right the first time. It was suposed to be done in a week wonder who slipped what into my cigar that night but it is getting there. Hope you all enjoy the pics eveb though I am embarressed now since that room is trashed from construction.

If it wasn't trashed, it wouldn't be called construction...you'd just be re-decorating! Can't wait to have a place to smoke sheltered from the cold!

Yeah, don't be embarassed, the whole second story of my house looks worse than that right now!

Looks like it is going to be really nice. Let me know if that fan works out. I don't know where to start with that part of my smoking room. I am afraid I will suck all of the heat out of the upstairs, or worse, create a vacuum and suck cold air in.

We did a lot of cleaning on the fly so to speak to make it manageable as the project progressed.

And as far as herfing in the room... heck we have been doing that since we started lol.

The first official herf will be when all the walls are finished, the trim is up and the power and lighting is installed.

I for one am really looking forward to it

That room is going to be real nice! You will be very pleased and proud when you are done with it. I can picture a nice leather couch and some wing back chairs in there when its done. :thumbs:

doc did not have 28 was gonna use a 12 and shawn got a bit scared. but in near future I am going to set up some targhets and try

The room looks like it is going to be awesome. I would suggest looking into a Ozinator for getting rid of the smell. A good one goes for around 400 bucks, but they are well worth it. You start the machine when you are done smoking and are out of the room. Turn it off the next morning and you will not have an iota of cigar smell left.

Here is SOMETHING you can use to clear the smoke out of the room while you ARE smoking. It really works good. You replace the fan blades on a 52" ceiling fan with it. They cost around $300.

Now that is really sweet, I've been trying to talk Dale into putting up a ceiling fan regardless (up to the point I said I'd donate one to the cause) thanks for the link :thumbs:

Atuck you use the purifan? I'm going to be building a smoke area in my basement and looking for something to use. This might be just what i'm looking for.
