Do any of the newbs want to do battle with the FOGS

There obviously seems to be a history here that I'm not aware of, but I have to deal with the information I have and run with it. Here's what I know, which is probably representative of the perspective of my fellow newbs:

1.) To my knowledge, there has been no other organized chances to show appreciation to the FOGS since I joined in October.

2.) Pembroke offered his time and effort to organize this. The motivation for doing so is for him alone to know.

3.) I have gotten the chance to show at least one FOG some appreciation, even though to him it probably seems like small potatoes. I am grateful for that opportunity, and at least some of that gratitude should be directed towards Pembroke for facilitating.

4.) The thread has become unpleasant, and somewhat discouraging to me as a newb. I have never participated in a pass or anything else like this. Thus 100% of CP events (wars, passes, etc.) are unpleasant to me thus-far. I imagine there are other newbs out there that now feel the same.

Considering all these factors, I have a favor to ask of all of you: If you have long-standing beefs, or even new exceptions with how things are being done in this year's war, by all means, speak your minds. Just please do it in a different thread and leave this one to my newbie brethren that are just here to spread some cigar-love to the old farts. We may not have earned much respect yet, but surely we've earned the right to show some respect to those who have.

Brian(Jonesy) your a class act as many others that are here. Yes I badly worded the OP but if people like Ben and Tom had bothered to read the thread rather than be drama queens you would have seen early that I admitted that early on in the thread. Have I made mistake here sure have. I been asked to keep quiet by some very classy people but that cannot continue with BS from some here. Ben you are a sad human being. You right there was no problem to you jumped to your buddies Tom aid right away. You sir have no class at all. It is to bad because 95% of the people here are good. I was wrong with Robbie and made my apology no more needed to be added but of course there was.

But the other 5 % got to play sheriff. Do not get me wrong we need some and there are some very good people here that do that job in a constructive manner. Then we have the couple of people who lurk just waiting on someone to bash. It really must be rough if you need to be a internet hero. I really do pity the people that find a need to berate people.

So if you feel a need to continue your childish crap fine with me. You do not know me and as far as I know you are not a mind reader or the supreme being, so how you think you can tell my motives or what kind of a person I am is beyond me.

Just know the few of you that want to see me meltdown. You do not hold that kind of power. If Rod thinks I am a bad guy and wants me gone I would leave. But people like you Ben can keep poking all you want. The sad part is some people buy your crap Ben. Then there are people who do notice your constant sarcasm.

I do not care if you bring up every mistake I made on this board. I could care less for the people who do not like me as everyone is entitled to a opinion. But just as you and a few others say whatever the heck you want to other people I will not longer bite my lip. I call it as I see it nothing but a attempt to cause drama. I am ok with me and that is all that matters.

Jesus man, that was a tough one to wade through. I think the general point several people are making, including Jonesy if I'm not mistaken, is that this started on the wrong foot, and has had a few problems along the way. Further, Evan expressed concern with the attention-oriented aspect of the thread, which I feel is a valid discussion point, certainly not drama or stirring the pot. Further, your constant need to take everything to PM is disheartening. As long as I've been here grievances such as these have been aired publicly, especially when those involved are newer to the forums, and thus could use the information. Perhaps you should take a step back and look at the amount of people bringing up points here, and who and what they're talking about(I personally quite liked Insight's, Elittle's, and AVB's).

As far as Ben goes he's a filthy heathen whom I'll have no part of.

If Evan was only concerned with the attention-oriented aspect that is fine. He also included this line if you read it " I am saying pembroke is tacky for doning it this way. So no Evan was not trying to just make a point he was also throwing in a dig.

FYI Brian, this thread went south as soon as someone got called out for bombing me without permission. Next time I will make sure I appropriately investigate to make sure the shit I receive is from an approved source, or that at least there are some whistling smilies and a DC# somewhere so I know I am not making incorrect assumptions

Nah Phil, this thread went south with the statement in the OP stating the "Be careful because the FOG'S hit back hard". From then on out, it's just the case of Don continuing to fan the flames with his posts. He and I pm'ed back and forth last night and I told him to stay away from posting responses that would cause controversy and just encourage the newbs in this thread. Well, it's pretty obvious that he can't stop himself from posting as shown from the lengthy post above where he continues calling people "drama queens" and such. I know the need to defend yourself Don, but this is just what we discussed last night and if you can't step away from the keyboard, then you'll continue to catch shit from people.

No, it's not a valid discussion point. This is supposed to be a war and with a war comes attention, dc#'s, pics of bombs going off, etc...I still fail to see why such a bitch is being made out of this aspect of the thread?!?!

Like I said in a previous post, if he has such a beef with these newbs doing this, then why hasn't he shown up in one of AVB's threads? I'll tell you why, because in this thread, some of his friends were at the receiving end of some of Don's posts and this is his way to back them up. I don't have a problem with coming to your friends aid, but don't bring the rest of these guys into it when they are doing something genuine here. This is why I have such a problem with Evans' post.

Don, if you want the "drama queens" to stay out of the thread, then you need to step away as well and stop posting. NO ONE has a problem with newbie wars, newbs bombing FOGs, or newbs posting up their DC#'s. They just need to make sure they understand that in doing this war they are showing their appreciation for those that make this board so great, and they should in no way expect retribution.

Don, you could have from the beginning, and still could run this thing from behind the scenes. You can provide targets, addresses, and directions without ever once making a post in this thread. If you want to continue to help with this war, feel free to do so, but do it out of the spotlight.

I gotta agree with this. Don and I have had our problems in the past which we have since mended, and although I do think the OP was worded in poor taste, I think that the discussion of Don's reputation should be done in another thread. This thread should be for the newbies and their bombing campaign. Last year myself and a couple other newbs attempted to derail the Newbie War thread in 09', and looking back it was done in bad taste. I just think if you guys need to slug it out, which by all means I'm totally fine with people speaking their mind, do it in another thread please.

E, Ben, Tom, Joe......you guys have made your point. It's out there for all to see, and formulate their own opinions. If Don steps away, do the same. Let the newbs have their fun.

Joe, your hair is wise beyond it's years! You're right, this is something to take notice of. I don't know man... If I was Don, I'd just stay the hell out of the newbie war stuff from now on. Maybe he should have PM'd a handful of new guys that expressed mild interest in a PIF for the old guys, hand over all of his info., and let them run it. Honestly, this is what Jonesy did for me when I ran it in 08'. He didn't run it, he didn't toot his own horn, he had ZERO of anything to do with it besides "passing the torch" so to speak. IMO, this is how it should be done. It's in the spirit of CP to PIF, and if Don wanted to run his own bombing campaign by all means do it. For the newbie war however, PM some newer newbs and see who would step up. I could think of at least 5 guys off the top of my head who, if asked, would probably have run it without batting an eye if they had been given the proper information.
