Dirty looks or fake coughing

I usually just use the Governor Arnold approach....

OMFG I can't believe it. I just came home from one of my local starbucks and had to share this with you guys It's funny that I started this thread a couple of days ago and then this happens. Anyway, I know that this Starbucks condone smoking there due to all the ashtrays outside. I was sitting at an end table and this young chick with a laptop computer sat down next to me. I was smoking my Onyx Mini Belicoso. I was really enjoying it after I downed a double expresso. After a few minutes I see her go inside and talk with the manager. I don't think much of it. Then the manager comes out. Some 18 year old punk and asked me if I would mind moving to the other side so the smoke does not bother the other people. I could not believe it. It pissed me off. I told him I did mind and I dropped the rest of my cigar right in front of him and gave it a quick squash (and everyone knows how pungent a smoldering cigar can smell) and walked away. When I got to my car I seen that the girl with the computer moved to the other side and the manager was picking up my cigar with a napkin. I wish I could have caught that on tape. That's one for the books.

I usually don't bother paying attention, however, I think I have received more compliments than anything on how good my cigar smelt. I did light up in a snooty club one night and got some looks. hehehe :p

If it's outside and I'm there first, & you gotta problem with my smoke? ???

Move your silly ass somewhere else!

WOW.

Being a noob.. I have yet to get any looks or coughs.. Usually I am with a group of CIGAR smokers.. SO it is kind of hard to give dirty looks to a group of guys.. LOL!! One time in Vegas the blackjack dealer made a comment about my yucky cigar.. So I kindly lit up my cigar and sat as lcose as I could to him.. While I took the casinos money!!!

What gets me the most about hearing these stories is how some people behave.

Before I started smoking cigars, I used to despise the smell of cigarette smoke. To me it's WORSE than cigar smoke because of the burning paper. The worst of the worst would be when some jackoff would light a cigarette and just sit there holding it, NEVER taking a puff from it or these other dickwads or bimbos who light a cigarette and let it just sit there in the ashtray, never taking a draw on it.

Even though it bothered me, I NEVER thought once about approaching the person with the cigarette and saying something obnoxious like "If you're not going to smoke it, please put it out." The way I look at it is, I don't like it, I can move. If I don't like the smell of cigarette smoke in bars, I can leave. Better yet is on a few occasions I'd light up a cigar in a bar in the midst of cigarette smokers and THEY'D start whinning :D most often they'd realize what a$$holes they were being but sometimes not.

And again, these OUTDOOR stories that you guys are posting truly amaze me. :0

Gawn, you got the best one yet :D :D :D

How about the old bags that douche themselves with cheap fragrances then decide that it would be nice to go out to dinner. The smell of some old broad drenched in purfume INSIDE ruining everyone else's dinner is far worse than anything we do ;)

Here in Oklahoma the smoking laws are about change for restaurants. They will essentially have to have a seperate HVAC for the smoking areas but the kicker is some of the places that allow smoking put up signs that say you can't smoke cigars or pipes. That is frustrating!

Other than that I have no stories other than the wife telling me to go outside.

I had the opposite experience last night, and this sort of thing has happened a few times. I was having a wonderful smoke last night, CAO Brazillia, and reading a great book at Schlesingers and a nice woman walked up and said, "I hope you don't mind if I stand here a minute. My dad used to smoke cigars and every time I smell one it reminds me of him." Nice moment.

If she was at all good looking I hope you said, "I will be your Daddy".

Nah, it looks like the Mets will be picking up Pedro so the Yankee fan cry of "Hoosier Daddy" is nothing but a bad memory at this point :D
