Dirt Cheap Smoking Pleasures

I'm really surprised that no one else besides me has made any mention about Flor de Olivas (bundles). At about $1.50 a smoke, I believe they're one of the best values out there (at least that I've come across).

I actually smoked one of those last night that i aquired from a bomb several months ago....was kinda bland and tasteless if you ask me... ???

Hey Jeffro - that's interesting - I haven't heard too many people give that description before. Remember, this is a $1.30-$1.50 cigar. At any rate, who cares (as you know, it doesn't matter what another person likes, as long as you enjoy it). ;) On another note, just curious, besides the Padron, what else would you recommend in the sub 2 dollar range? I'm always interested in finding great value sticks (for times in which I'm out working in the yard or doing some activity where I'm not really focusing on the smoke so much).

Wombat - I've bought them from CI in the past. They're kind of hard to find anywhere else.

HEY ALL YOU PADRON FUMAS FANS - any of you who want to do a trade, perhaps a fiver, let me know. I've got some El Mejors, Connies, Flor do Olivas and others that I could trade. I would love to experience this smoke for myself since I keep hearing such great things about them. :)

i knew brad (smokyballs) should have put a few fumas in that pass :D

??? wheres scott i think he may have a few things to say about padron fumas ???

fumas are great, i also like flor de oliva (cuz its long filler)
padron two thousand are not too expensive,if youre paying under $2 for fumas these should not be too much more than that

i dont smoke too many that price range, brad dont let me smoke too many, hes always askin me to smoke with him :D heres what we smoke when brads around

oh another smoke thats not too bad but dirt cheap is quorum its a nic. short filler manufactured and dist. by fuente.

and if ya wanna smoke the cheapest fuente on the market, decisions can be had for about seventy cents, maybe less

The Padron Fumas seem to be pretty hard to get. I have been trying to get my hands on a box, but everywhere I look they seemed to be out of stock. Oh well.

As far as cheapies go, LVH Fumas are very good and a couple of weeks ago I snagged a bundle of Roly's the Puro Indios 2nds. Have only smoked a few and the taste is pretty decent although the construction is not very good, but for $17.95/ bundle of 20 I didn't expect much.

Yeah, my experience exactly. I like 'em but not enough for all the effort to get them.

My cheap goto is the Trilogy Corojo. c bid. Just love em. No competition from me for a while on cbid for them as I have quite a few on hand now.

Your asking the wrong person...padrons and a few other hard to get bundles are the only cheap smokes that i enjoy on a regular basis...everything else for the most part is 5 bucks and up.

EDIT:  Btw, kudos to everybody for not jumping all over Wurm for his cheap smoking preferences.  That tends to happen sometimes around here.  Smoke what you like, that's what I say.  :p

LOL I said DIRT CHEAP and I meant it. :p

I'm a La Finca kind of guy. I'm on my second bundle of the mixed filler Cazadore. Very white ash, holds on at least an inch to an inch and a half. Flavor is slightly spicy, but not overpowering. Really nice yard or golf smoke.
I used to smoke the Flor de Olivas, and still like them ok, but prefer the La Fincas. The Mr B's aren't too bad, either.

Joebob, you have prior experience which would allow you to make a taste comparison to old, dried out poo?

Best cheapest Habano that I smoke and still smoke at times for a quickie in the afternoon with a cup of coffee is the Pro Laranga Pantella it cost around $2.80 per cigar.

Best cheapest Non Habano is the Padron Fuma. Only smoked about a 1/2 a dozen. But the ones I have had have been of excellent quality.

I gotta try one of those Fumas!!

Try at least a few of them...one thing i dont like about them is that they are not consistant one cigar to the next...their all good, but each has its own slightly different taste....my guess is due to it being a short filler, scrap kinda cigar. Good nonetheless!

I got Piranhas on sale a few months back just over 2 bucks a stick. Slightly more $ is Fonseca KDT. Don't smoke much else in that price range.

WHERE AT!?!??!?! :0

Serious cigars .. .I looked at the date and it was January (more than a few months ...no wonder they're almost gone). Buy 3 get one free deal so 37 sticks for 69.05 + shipping. I should have bought more.

Edit: make that 34 total.

I smoke qurom robustos as a cheap cigar mostly cause i can buy a bundle of 20 right across the street from my work for 19.50 they arnt to bad . i also smoke a lot of cuestsa - rey for the same reason but those start at about $4 a cigar

I love Indian Tabac Cuban Corojo/Classics - I get them regularly for about $1.25-1.50 at cbid. I like the Robustos(Arrow/Boxer) and the Piramedes(Teepee) best.

The cheapest cigars I smoke are the Padron Palmas in maduro. They are one of my golf course cigars and at 2.50 a pop they taste pretty damn good.

My cheapest Cuban cigar is the hand rolled Upmann Corona Major A/T, at 4 bucks a stick, hell of a smoke.

Yeah, I really enjoy the H. Upmann Coronas as well. However, I paid about 7 bucks a stick for them. I'd love to hear where you can get them for less, anyone? Just send me a PM :)
