Diamond Crown Maximus

They're okay....overhyped imho though....

I'd rather smoke a Don Carlos or Opus....

I recently had one of the Churchill #2's. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it took way too long to smoke. Smoking at a decent pace, my wife came out to the porch to check on me after I had been out there for 2 hours. Sadly, I still had about 1/3 left at that time.

Has anyone had a #2 and a shorter size as well? I am curious as to how they compare.

The only box of DC Maximus I've ever had, I gave away... just not my thing. They are fine cigars, and I can understand why someone might really like 'em, just not for me... especially for the price.

They do have very luscious sun grown wrappers tho!

Well LET ME KNOW if this happens again! ;)

I can't honestly tell you why I love these cigars. I've loved them since the first smoke. They are regularly avaible at a decent price and are just a little spice, nothing to over the top. Not saying opus is over the top, just sometimes you feel like a nut, and sometimes you don't! :D

Nobel, I've never seen a #2. #3 Robusto is the smallest and second to best size, IMHO. It's the one I smoke while grilling!

I just finished a box of #5 robusto and IMHO the cigar is probably a 88 or 89 rated cigar.
It also seems that in a pass or trade a lot of folks have the #5 in their arsenal and not much else from DCM.
Is the #5 about the best cigar DCM puts out?
So far the DCM has the nicest box for under $200.00 (if your into boxes)

Any help would be appreciated.

The Pyramid is also very nice, but expensive.

I just smoked a Diamond Crown Maximus Pyramid last night, in some pretty chilly conditions (roughly 60 degrees). It burned evenly, a bit of a moderately tight draw, moderate amount of smoke (not copious). The ash was tan/grey for 1/2 inch to white, mildly flaky yet tight overall for the rest. The taste was interesting.... a meaty, steak like taste with mild hints of toasted almonds and carmel. Damn, it was a finely constructed work of art. It burned for nearly an hour and 1/2!!!! No soft spots anywhere.

I'd try it again but would probably smoke it in 70 degree weather, preferably indoors :sign:
