You could make your own by boiling water in a tea pot and then inverting a metal bowl over the spout. You have to play with how this can be done with some kind of support arm etc. To increase condensation place a bag of ice of the bowl.
Another way would be to take a baking pan for cakes that has a hole/spout in the middle and placing this over a pot of boiling water with the steam directed up through the middle. Then place a metal bowl over that with a bag of ice and the water will condense and pool in the cake pan.
The metal bowl on top needs to fit inside so the condensed water will accumulate in the pan.
This should yield you "distilled water"
It will be a bit of a PITA ass but it beats ruining you humidification device.
