What's a good time-frame that I could use to gauge that a person has either not recieved or is too lazy to report that he recieved a pass? Just curious, because the DC# shows he got it...but there has been no post of that receiption. Now, I'm worried that it may have gone to wrong address...my mistake...or it got to the address but he hasn't put his hands on it yet. ;)

Couple of days max I would think but definitely Email and PM the recipient.

Yeah, always PM the bro. But ... usu. a few days to get it and look stuff over then send out.

It's courtesy to post as soon as you receive it if you are able to. As others have said, PM him. Did he say in the thread he may be out of town?

Things happen...family problems can arise, sudden trips outta town, etc...give em at least a few days to respond before you start to worry. After 4-5 days, id start taking a little bit more agressive action...maybe making a phone call to the person if available...contacting the post office, etc.

I've been involved with two passes (one was a surprise arrival) and I busted my chops to get them both back out the same day. Of course, "life happens" and it's not always possible to pull off a same day turnaround, but I'd think a post or a PM wouldn't be out of the question. I take passes very seriously and I think it's "BOTL courtesy" to keep other participants informed as to the pass status. So many misunderstandings could be avoided if folks would just keep in touch.

PM the gent and see "what's up" before you get too concerned. If he dogs your PM, that's another issue....

If I'm not mistaken, this is the "Hot Potato". It's entirely possible that the guy is on a trip or vacation (unless he's posting here, of course). Because these are sent out anonymously and unannounced, he may not even know what it is.

I'd say give him 2 - 3 days and then send a PM.

Anyone who blames being tardy on "life happens" bull crap is a bad trader in my book.If you are part of a box pass, it is your obligation to be home(not on vacation or a business trip) to receive the box and then get it back on it's way within a 24 hour time period.

This is what a pro does when it comes to box passes, all other scenarios are for rookies and pretenders.

I usually would try to post that I have recieved the box the day I have it.

I usually get the box out the next day. The only thing that can ruin that is a weekend and if its a Saturday. If its a Saturday. I will wait until Monday instead of letting the cigars sit in the Post Office sweating to death.

24hr turn around time should be expected. Unless something strange comes up.

Again, I don't think we are talking about a box pass here. This was a "Hot Potato Bomb" if I'm not mistaken. Fetter, would you please clarify?

I'm sorry, but this is crap. Yes you can schedule your vacations but if I have a plant go down in upstate New York I'm on the road immediately as that is part of my job. Life does happen and if you think otherwise I gotta ask what color is the sky in your world?

The deal is that it's the "Hot Potatoe PAss" and I didn't ewant him to know it was coming to him. But I guess I should now alert him that it's there and to find out if he got it.

Thanks for the advice. :)

Thanks for clarifying, Fetter.

Just so eveyone knows, this is a bomb, not a pass. The recipient did not know it was inbound.

Yup...it said "Hot Potatoe" And he said that he wanted to be included...so I included him. Would like to know that he got it, though. But I still want it to be a surprise...of sorts.
