Deadwood

Damn long thread to discuss deadwood. Don't you know that "See Alice" will take care of that for you.

Sorry, just couldn't resist. :whistling:

I don't think the two characters will be tied together.
Quote from HBO website, episode 16, season 2

"Wolcott is confronted by Ellsworth, angry that Wolcott's been snooping around Alma Garret's gold claim without permission. His anger is further motivated by the fact that Wolcott, in mining the Comstock claim years earlier, had caused the death of 46 miners."

I for got about this so I guess Wolcott is a legit character but then again you never know how the writers will make it come out.

Deadwood is the only reason I kept HBO.

Not my only reason but high up there. Sopranos sure tanked and became a huge disappointment. Season 2 was the last truly great season, but season 3 was ok. Now the make us wait until 2006 for the final season which is said to be only 6 episodes.

Oh Deadwood :whistling:
Awesome show. This year is a little duller than the first but it's starting to heat up a bit.

Awwww man how can you leave Rescue Me out of that list? Definitely last year's best new show

Al Swerengen........a charmer this man is, where up until this week my favorite line was when he told his dumbass yes man...

"you go down there and tend to the c u n t & whiskey" :D

My new favorite...his subtle, "By the way thanks for brushing against my prick"
I was so tempted to say that to a silicone sally client of mine last night :p

Well even if I DID get HBO, it's on Sunday at 9:00 which is the same time as "Desperate Housewives" so sorry, that's one of my favorite shows.

Repeats are the best thing about HBO, if you miss a show on Sunday they are usually replayed on Tuesday. They also will re-run an entire season at the end and beginning of a new season.

Do you think little William Bullock is dead?

What are they going to do to the two blacks guys in the stable? It won't be pretty that's for sure. The whole thing is someone is to blame.
Do you see how the Hearst group is working on the entire town?
Had that sad sack kill his brother then killed him, then they planted the school marm to get Alma's take. Sweringen intercepted that telegraph, he is turning out to be the good guy here isn't he?

I think in the previews they mentioned the boy broke his back, is paralized, or something to that effect. Without the Sherrif looking out for them I'd say the black guys in the stable are indeed in trouble this time. They can't even use the confesion the one guy sighned about his behavior with the sherrifs horse to save themselves now. And yeam the Wolcott camp is making a pretty strong play. Al is indeed turning out to be a good guy, but don't forget it's because his interests are the same as the towns.

I have Multi channel HBO so if I miss it on the earlier east cost feed I can just watch it three hours later on the west coast feed that same night.

I wonder what Joanie is going to do from here on out? Looks like shes going to make friends with Jane. You know, I was watching a history channel show about the real Deadwood. They mentioned that the real Jane's history is a little foggy and mysterious, but that she probbably made her living at least in part through prostitution. Hmmmm........

Only three episodes left this season. :angry2: :(

Okm I guess the kid did die. I could have sworn the previews gave the impression that he didn't.

SO whats up for tonights season finally??!! Anyone care to venture some guesses??

What about the next season? Has anyone read any series info on how many seasons are planned at this point? Is there for certain going to be a season three? How many episodes in season 3 if so?

What other series are people looking ofrward to? I want to see Sopranos even though its the last and there will only be 10 episodes. It will be very interesting to see how they wrap it up. That new one looks good. Rome was it? I think thats going to be good. Enterage has been good just the last couple shows I've seen. I need to go back and watch the previous episodes I think.

Also, has anyone been watching the new season of Family Guy!!!??? I love Quagmire!!

Deadwood has been renewed for a third season with 12 episodes.

No more San Francisco cocksucker. lol. What about Tolliver? Will he make it to season 3?

An interesting bit of historical info, just an FYI. And for the ultimate DEADWOOD fan... link.

This season's opener was great and the promo for next weeks epsiode look even better.

Edit because it is too early in the morning and I need more coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Great start to the new season. Swearengen is the most fascinating character on TV. Hearst looks like he's going to be a really evil bastard. Joanie Stubbs wrestles with her demons: "No disarray, but you nearly had brain on your walls."

Great script, great characters, accomplished actors, beautifully designed sets and costumes, and every indoors shot lit like a Vermeer, this show is easily the best thing on television.

There are other important events in Deadwood's history that have not yet been shown. We can only wait and watch to see how and if the series handles these events.
  • Following the gold rush with all the rest, Morgan and Wyatt Earp came to Deadwood in September 1876 and stayed until the following Spring. Some say there is a confrontation between Wyatt Earp and Seth Bullock.
(Seems this will happen next episode... :whistling: )

  • In June 1877 George Hearst, who had earlier sent an agents to offer a bond to owners of the Homestake claim, buys the 4 ½ acre claim for $70,000.
  • Mark Twain is in Deadwood in the summer of 1877.
(Neal will love this episode... )
  • A new preacher, Father Mackin, comes to town to replace the dead Preacher Smith.
  • Martha Bullock introduces art and culture to the town.
  • Dan Doherty and Al Swearengen have a falling out and Dan opens his own saloon.
  • The Bella Union shuts down in 1878, the building becomes a grocery store and meeting room.
  • In 1879 a disastrous fire destroys 300 buildings in Deadwood including the Gem Theater and Star & Bullock's hardware store. Both businesses are rebuilt.
  • Sol Star becomes mayor of Deadwood.
  • Sol Star and Seth Bullock buy a section of land, begin ranching and start a new town called Belle Fourche.
  • Seth and Martha Bullock have two more children
  • Seth Bullock meets Theodore Roosevelt in 1884.
