Hello, search as I tried, I could not find anything on this. Has anyone had this issue with USPS, what happened? Were you able to get your package? Please let me know if you have seen this before. Thanks.

Vendor package is being shown via tracking as dead mail/mail recovery center, it states it is being forwarded to a mail recovery center but does not give a number or anything else. I've been on hold on 2 occasions and over 30 mins a piece no discussion with anyone. I've forwarded a copy of the tracking to vendor ( awaiting a response) Has anyone successfully recovered packages that have seen this before?

I have no idea how USPS works.

Ordered a DVD for my kids off Ebay but failed to click the box to update the shipping address to my current residence.  Checked the tracking number and it showed it was delivered to my old house.  30 minutes on hold and I was told there was nothing USPS could do and the package would be returned to sender.  I notified the seller to see how he wanted to proceed, he said he would ship another DVD and when the other one returned that would be it.  The 2nd copy showed up three days later.  About a month after that the original DVD showed up at my new address with a dearth of other markings on it.

I've had USPS temporarily lose an expensive package of cigars that I was selling. Took about a week but they eventually showed up.

Short version: USPS loses things; mine have always shown up eventually.  YMWV

Ask your local Post Office for their Operation Manager's name and phone number. Call him or her directly and explain. If he or she blows you off, ask for the District Manager's name and number, that should do the trick. POOM's ( Post Office Operations Manager's) don't want to get on the DM (District Manager) radar. Let them track it down.  You can also start a Customer Complain on the 800 line. Be sure to follow up with this if you do, be sure that they "don't close it out" until it is resolved. The longer it is open the more attention it will get.

Vendor is taking steps in their end to get package forwarded/delivered to me. I let them know I'm doing the same. Thanks Bayamos for your input/assistance.
