Coronado by La Flor

Propel? Is that what they're calling torpedo juice these days?

Doc.

You shoulda rode the boats, Doc. You'd have had fun!
Jarheads are bad enough, but bubbleheads? Not a chance. BTW, I passed the Psychological exam to be a bubblehead, but opted out.

Doc.

Twice I saw our Doc put a guy into the ole hug me, love me attire, and send him off to la-la land. Saw a chief QM hang himself - damned hard to do an a sub, but possible. I don't put much stock in the psych screen.

We had the a Captain of a nuke boat on a Psyc. ward in Philly. Crazier than a shithouse rat. Scary.

Doc.

I know I bought some of these but I can't seem to find them. :0

Smoked my DC tonight...I liked it enough to want to age a few to see what happens.

I went to a cigar shop today and the owner gave me one of these to try since I told him that I can't find the ones that I bought from him a while ago. I still have not tried one.

I should have read this thread before lighting up mine last night. Wow, if I ever doubted my 'newbness', I don't anymore. This thing damn near knocked me out. Started out really spicy at first, even pre-light my tounge needed cooled down. Surprisingly though it mellowed a bit, almost a sweetness in the middle. I couldn't make it till the end, I had to drive home! It was good, but maybe too much, too soon. Great stick though.

I have had a couple of these. I like they alot however the ring guage is a little too big

They just came out with a few smaller vitolas.
Toro 6x52
Corona Especial 5. 7/8 x 47

Jack Schwartz has them in stock.

We had their national sales guy, Jack, in the store today and he was talking about the new sizes. It's great to see these in a smaller size, even the dble corona is a task to smoke (a very enjoyable task nonetheless)...

Found a box of the toro 6x52 in Charleston South Carolina while I was there last weekend, at the club Havana House down town. Great smoke. Picked up 8 guy did not have a box to sell, BUT I know who does. :whistling:
They are a nice rich smoke, however I did not feel they are all powerful like I see some people find them. La Flora Limited II are stronger. I compare them to The Monti. Platinum some were in that neighborhood.

Glad I read this thread, I have had one in the humi for a month or so and thought it was going to be a lighter smoke. Guess I woulda been in for a shock, thanks for the heads up.

My experience with the Coronado....

The first one I smoked sucked. I mean flavor was unbalanced, one dimensional, disatisfying, and harsh. Nicontine buzz was great though.

The second one a few weeks later echoed the first, but the flavors were becoming more pronounced, complex, and it was a bit smoother.

My third experience about a month after the second was gratifying. Flavors were complex, taste was there, nicotine still pleasant, and the harshness is gone. I suppose this goes to show how a person's palate as well as a particular cigar can change over time.
