That's right! Some people call them living fossils. I caught one as a kid and I thought I had hooked a monster!

We left him on the floor of the aluminum boat all day long in August (110 degrees). Later that day when we were leaving, we put it back in the water and it swam away! They are really tough!

This has been a good study in ichthyology!!
