I think the simple fact pointed out by @ChuckJr that there are plenty of other governments that would love to expose our secret of not actually going there would have by now. China is a big one too. Wouldn’t they love to expose that and create more doubt in our government? Maybe @CigarStone is a Chinese spy himself trying to create more chaos amongst cigar smokers!!!!

Do you remember spy-gate and the Patriots? It is now commonly accepted that "all" teams cheat in various ways, the Patriots just took it too far.

But prior to that, why do you suppose no teams ever called another team out? Because they are all doing it and if anyone points a finger, it will quickly be pointed right back at them.

If you accept the fact that there is no such thing as an honest politician (from any country) and they are all in the game of stealing the peoples money, you can soon see why they all play nice together when it comes to certain things.

I'm not saying that I disagree with you but when red scientists and blue scientists have differing versions of science, then we are fucked. Science is supposed to be the ONE thing that is irrefutable and yet it is common nowadays to refute it. If science isn't convenient to one's particular interests, then it is junk, fake, wrong, bad or pick your favorite adverb.
My point is that if the royal We cannot settle on the science, then the science to fix earth ain't gonna happen.
