One of my favorite stories in this line is when a close female relative bought her first house. Microwave ovens were still pretty new and her house had a built-in one. She was proudly giving us the tour of her new house and she showed us the fancy built-in microwave and she said something like..."It should work really well too because there is a microwave tower just down the street."
(Like it's a TV and it needs good "reception" or something). Later she said that her realtor (a woman) had pointed that out and she was just repeating what she had been told.
Of course, this is the same person that once described a pair of pliers as "a screwdriver that grips"....
