Cohiba - Real vs Fake

Hello,

I am hoping you can help me.

Attached is a link of seven images I combined into one. They are of a box of 3 Cohiba cigars I was given as a gift. They were bought while on a cruise. While I have done research online, some of the things lean towards authentic and some lean towards inconclusive/counterfeit, especially since I have no other experience or boxes to compare this one against. I was hoping you could take a look at the images and tell me your best opinion. Real or fake I am understanding, I would just like to know what I am smoking when I open the box, and if I should chalk this experience to authentic Cuban Cigars or knock offs.

Why I think they are real:
The tax seal looks rich in color, and the depth and fineness of print seem to be comparable to authentic seals I have seen online.
The "habanos" label appears to match with legit boxes, 2 bold gold lines with 2 thin black lines in between, the black tobacco leaf as well as the coloring and style of font used.
The label on the back appears to match more authentic boxes as well with the detail and fineness in print there (no choppy/broken or misshaped lettering.

Why I am unsure:
The side latch is fairly plain in comparison to some I have seen, but I have not seen a box of 3 like this online.
There is no location on the box that has the company name burned into it, nor does it have a production date.
I have not seen a hologram like this on a box, but again I have no real experience.

I know it all comes down to the experienced eye and I am hoping you can help define which category these cigars fit into; authentic or counterfeit?

REVISED LINK

Thank you in advance

Fake!

Every new guy that has come here asking that question, has had fakes.

So the answer is fake and I'm sorry about it for you.

Well, I know what my initial guess is, however I can't get the link to work.

Almost. I recall that there was one fellow who had authentic goods. But you're right. The odds are long.

Fix that link and let us take a look.

Okay, I exaggerated one out of a hundred is almost all

Oh my lord.

I'm going to let my other brothers here field this one. You don't need my help on this.

That works. Im fine with them being fake since I didnt pay for them. I just want to know what I am smoking.

Thanks for the input.

Okay make that one out of 101. Glass top strikes again.

Here is a follow up question then... should it just be assumed that any cigar coming inside of glass tube/box isn't worth the trouble? I have come across Te Amo cigars that have been fake in the past based on them being in a glass tube, and here is another example.

Should it be assumed that "high end" cigars will in no way be associated with glass?

If the makers of all these glass top Cohiba cigars ever get internet access we will have to work a lot harder at spotting the fakes. I am sure they are smart enough to know (or find out quickly) that Cohiba does not make glass top boxes. :sign:

As far as recent production goes, the rule applies to Havanas. There are some Non-cuban cigars in glass tubes or glass topped humidor boxes, and one bad brand of Cuban that comes in a plastic tube.

Why the hell would anyone bother making fake Te Amo sticks ?   That is some funny stuff!
