Can someone tell me what the width (top to bottom) of a Cohiba band should be.

I have a Robusto from a trusted source and an Esplendido from an untrusted source.

The length and gauge of the esplendido are pretty on ..But the smell is not on...and the wrapper looks a bit rough and the color is darker than normal. Also the band seems a bit too long in width. And the Cohiba raised script seems a bit off and larger and the gold around the word cohiba seems too thick. also the yellow looks more oranger than normal.

Thanks..

I have pics but cigarphotos is having problems..uploading pics.. ughh

Analysis of the bands many times doesn't give you a good idea. I've seen bad "geniune" bands and beautiful bands on fake cigars.

I'd be very suspicious of the dark and rough wrapper. Not that I'm a Cohiba aficionado or anything but the Esplendido sounds questionable. The real test is or course to smoke it but if it's something you're thinking of pulling out of a pass, I'd leave it unless you trust the person who put it in the pass.

Now, if it came from Matt R. or lucasbuck, there's NO WAY it's a fake :D

I'm guessing you've never been on a boat?

Starboard is right.

'Starboard' signifie le côté droit des moyens de navigation d'un bateau. 'Port' signifie le côté à gauche.

Auf Schiff bedeutet ein Steuerbord die rechte Seite. Tor bedeutet die linke Seite.

don't know it in english or spanish,

Yeah, wasn't sure about that Esp. myself so had to pass on it. Have not smoked enough Cohibas to be able to tell.

I too guess starboard is false. BTW, I have yet to smoke a Cohiba that I liked. I smoked 2 Siglo 6's that even remotely tasted like something worth the money. Keep your Esplendidos, CoRo's, and Lanceros. Montecristo and Partagas are where it is at.

Not worth buying something I dont remotely like right now. Perhaps some kind soul who truely appreciates fine Cohibas will share one from a vintage that is smoking great right now....

Sorry to hear. My Siglo VI's were/are amazing  .

Some love Cohiba and some don't. I seriously doubt even a vintage Esplendido would convert you Emo :)

I am not looking to be converted, just looking to say, "Wow, now that is a damn fine cigar." I think the Siglo VI will be the one to do that for me though. The few Sig VI's I have had were decent, but young I suppose.

Smoked my first CoRo ISOM last night... My fingers are badly burned from smoking that baby down to the nub - I'm converted... (after my less than safisfying experience with the Siglo III).

True, Craig and I tend to not like most Cohibas while others like them very much.

I think the right is a fake. Send them into me for testing... :whistling:

LEft is genuine Cohiba.

And the one on the right is very very suspect..Looks bad..smells bad.. And I even think it will smoke bad :angry2:
