Cleaning out the dust.

I'm not a chemist (though the guy that gave me the advice was), but it makes perfect sense that 4oz of 10 ppm would work just as well as the recommend amount of 20 ppm.

Works fantastically for me, can't recommend it enough.

I'd use this solution to wipe out the humidor, not alcohol. Not much, just a slightly damp cloth. If you see any significant wetting of the cabinet, that's too much water.
I'm picking up some of the best nano brand. I'll get one 16 oz bottle, my wife will get another. Thanks BBS!

My nano silver arrived! I'll get to cleaning the cabinet soon.

I'm excited to see how this goes! I'm digging your set up!
Thanks. I currently have an Xtra large Savoy glass top humidor, one large Savoy glass top humidor, one "The Richmond" glass top with 3 drawers humidor, and a 2.5 gallon Rubbermaid container with cedar lining from cigar boxes all running on Boveda and the floral foam based humidifiers they came with. Distilled water only. The contents will all be transferred over to this unit when it's time. At which point I will likely be selling 2 desk top humis and keeping one.

I'm digging it man. That's a helluva find. I've been checking CL since this thread.

A couple years ago I passed up the opportunity to buy a 3 level, glass display/wood humidor with a lock, key, active humidification unit for $150. I researched it and they were going easily $300-$450 new. I wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. I strongly suggest searching often. You most definitely need to inspect it before purchasing, and ask questions. Of course people can lie. ALWAYS CHECK THE SEAL.

Vacuum with a can of air to clear the corners...

Canned air is good stuff good for many things. That will blow your skirt up.

Hit me up with the time comes. I may be interested ;)

Don't stress too much, just give this guy a call and all your cigar storage, temperature, and humidification worries will be a thing of the past. Lots of CP members have Staebell humidors, mine has been in action for almost a decade. New humidor wicks and a hygro cal last year are all that I've done....other than enjoy the cabinet. One of the purchases I'd unhesitatingly make again....tomorrow.

Actually, I did just that today.
Down payment placed. Now I wait 6-8 weeks for the build.

Old water cartridge was replaced with a new one, unit was wiped down with distilled water and silver solution. Inside of cabinet was vacuumed with wand attachment. Inside was then wiped down with damp cloth using distilled water and silver solution. Dried to touch. Started up humidifier with new charged cartridge. Placed glass bowl with distilled water and silver solution on bottom tray. Boveda packs 84, 75, and 69 throughout other trays. Let's see how long the seasoning takes. I'm guessing 7-10 days. We shall see.

C,
Invest in a better humidifier. I had one of those in my old cabinet and it wouldn't do the trick. I'm curious if it ends up working in that cabinet. Do you have any other fans in there to help move the air around?
