Like most of you probably are, I'm on Cigar International's mailing list. And with each issue of their catalog, I wonder about some of their cheapies. In particular, the bundles called "Original Cubans." The write-up claims they have the "vanilla ice cream taste of 1950s Cubans." Really? Did Cubans honestly taste like that?

But more to the point, has anyone tried these "Original Cubans?" Are they just a gimmiky flavored cigar, or are they really good (non-flavored) smokes at a low price?

I never got to go on liberty in Cuba. So I have no idea what a Cuban tastes like. ;)

Doc.

Never had one, but I've had my share of CI cheapies. I've come to the conclusion that, by and large, you get what you pay for (and I doubt this is one of the exceptions).

I had a Punch Double Corona the other day that did have a unique sweet creamy flavor to it, I wouldn't exactly call it "vanilla ice cream soda" like the CI writeup, but it was something really different that I've never tasted before.

Kinda what I thought. Wouldn't it be nice if one of these cheapie deals turned out as good as they describe? Thanks for the input, everyone...
