Nah, no STFU. You made very good points.

Yes, you can wait until the package arrives before asking the question and moving it on. It would only slow the process down a few days. Not a big deal. There's no rush to get this thing moved around as fast as possible. Its just an ongoing pass.

No, not a one-upsmanship. It's about being FAIR. That's all that can be asked of any transaction whether it be a trade, a play in a pass, or a PIF. If you'd like, think of this as more of checks and balance system of preventing the unfair transaction.

This is not to scare away newbies, but this is also not a play for newbies who aren't ready. If you don't have the sticks to play, DON'T answer the question. If you choose to play, then you've agreed to play by the rules and face the scrutiny of everyone involved, as are any of the other participants.

ISOMs have always been a sticking point and I definitely agree with what you said. Let's have it be a pure DOMESTIC PIF. That way, anyone can drop by their local shop and play (if they so choose). ISOMs are EXTRA (not required).

I like the concept of accountability(probably wrong word), but I think posting the contents of the PIF package would in place some pressure on the newer members. I remember being gifted some great smokes and not knowing how to repay the genorosity displayed to me. I was told to pass it own to someone else "in need" and not try to step up to be something I wan't yet, a FOG....I don't know what the solution may be. I believe someone should ask the question more of the idea of getting to share some good smokes, rather what they may receive. Sure it may be mildly disappointing to send out primo sticks and get returned El Creditos, but the main point is that we share the good smokes with newer members. Because I was surely the recipiant (sp?) of some pretty lopsided trades early on. I get the appropriate satisfaction from PIF, not from receiving anything...Just my $.02

Man this whole thing was to be easy, and the word "class" should tell ya. But some newbie may not have what you or I call class but to him it is, so its all part of the game, get what ya get, give what ya think is class.

Gelder has the plan for answering the questions around here... It's called lurking............

LOL

If they don't have "class" yet, then they can lurk around and learn! :) If what you've said is "part of the game," then this game will quickly become no fun for anyone. There just needs some basis to go off of besides "class" because that can, will, and has been abused.

Well then define what "Class" should be, then there will be no question, like sticks must be top shelf, or cost at least $8.

Or we can freeze the thread and start a new one, with very precise rules.

Whatever "class" is (and should be) defined as... everyone will agree to it and play by that rule. Otherwise, all it takes is one person with a low "class" definition to ruin it for everyone else.

I think we need a new PIF thread. I'd be happy to set the new rules and start it up.

Vewy,

I guess that I am now sitting in the so called 'drivers seat'. :p

I am next to ask the question, as gr8full2day is in the process of sending me a package. I guess we need to work out a wrinkle before this thing gets moving once again.

Here's a suggestion or just a thought. I haven't heard anyone complain about not getting as good as they received, yet. It seems that most of the poeple who have played so far, are coming back for more.

Before I get this pass moving along:

We can keep this pass rolling and someone can start up 'High Class CPIF' or,
We can start up CPIF II with a new set of rules.

The new rules can be spelled in exact detail as what is expected. Lets decide what we want or need to do with this pass and then I will ask the question.

geldor1, one of the many problems going on now is that people are far too nice to air out dirty laundry in public. However, what takes place behind closed doors (ie: PMs) is far more intense than what's posted on these threads.

I think the best thing to do is to hold off asking the question until a clear set of rules is issued. It'll most likely be in a new thread. I'm going to talk to sleepyjim about that. But until then, I'll keep you posted in PM.

Ok guys a new PIF thread will be styarted shortly so this one is closed and done.

Thanks,

Jim
