I decided to migrate the site to a new server in the Dallas Colo4 Data Center. Not only is the server faster with more resources available, it's in the middle of the country allowing for equal speed across most states. You should see a difference in speed and responsiveness.

Congrats on the move CP... Dallas, Texas is a more fitting place anyways.
They have amazing NFL cheerleaders. Go Cowboys !! :p

That's funny there are Colo Space server facilities all over and I service all the HVAC for a couple in NH!

to bad we cant say the same about the team

Rod does this move cost more to you? should we donate some sticks and create an auction to raise some cp server money?

Colo4 looks pretty impressive and expensive. Maybe we could just send some cash your way.

Was CP acting squirrely for anyone else this morning? I had a couple of funky things happen and now my two posts from this morning are gone. Seems to be ok now I think.

Yes, last night and this morning, but seems okay now.

Also, I'm in if you need to raise funds Rod.

I had access to CP this morning then around 10:30 CST I can't get it anymore.. Says
"CigarPass.com is currently unavailable
We've moved to a new data center. If you're seeing this message, then your DNS has not received the update. Please try back later. Thank you..."

Now I can access it at home but not on my qwest internet at work.

I appreciate your offer for funds. Perhaps next year we can setup some sort of fundraiser - will see where we are at with costs at that time. Really do appreciate the offer.

The reason you saw odd things occuring last night and today was due to DNS propogation. DNS can do some very strange things when switched... As for the AT&T issues, those should be cleared up as well. Turns out AT&T did an IP ban on one of my servers, resulting in CigarPass not being accessible. Apparently someone filed a complaint stating there was a virus on another website I host, so I terminated that site last week. I didn't find any malware on it. Informed AT&T that the site had been terminated, and I thought that was sufficient. Apparently they never released the ban, which is why only AT&T customers were affected. I wasn't even aware of the ban until someone brought it to my attention last night.

Funny how AT&T never admitted to it being an issue on their side, even though they are the ones who placed the IP ban. Generally, an email is sent to the administrator before any bans are placed.

We're back up and running, so back to enjoying the community!

hey Rod here something funny at my office im connected to two pc's and i can get on with one but the other give me that DNS message that was mentioned above. just thought you should know.

I can't get in all of a sudden on my laptop and getting the dame error.

I can't get in all of a sudden on my laptop and getting the same error. And its only on the forums page. I can get to the home page

If you're seeing the DNS message on the forum, then you're seeing the homepage on the old server. DNS will eventually propagate.
