Cigarbid

It's a good place for some decent stuff. I usually go there when I'm in the mood for some Gurkhas (not often though), JdNs, and a few other nicely priced cigars. The Quick Buy option is also a nice addition now that I think about it, especially if it's on a certain box that I really really want, but don't want to get into a bidding war.

But in all other cases... I just look, and then walk away. Self control is very difficult with such temptations.

Yeah the thread got hijacked.

No, it didn't.

A comment was made regarding Cigarbid....that would hold relevance to the thread.

The ensuing matter was a calling into question of the source.

edit - Will you respond or just look around? ......2 Members: tandblov, grateful1....

For me, I bought a few things on there a few years ago(mainly accessories). Nothing else in a long time.

I've been browsing CB for about a month now and have yet to bid on anything. (This will surely chage with time...) It seems though that some of the best deals are found on RP smokes, especially the vintage and vintage seconds.

tandblov, not good form.

Hey yeah, what happened to him? :whistling:

For some reason, I can hear a 50 caliber round racking as tandblov walks into your sights grateful.....

It's not about sighting anyone in.

There are a couple people who asked about a situation, relevant to this thread, and there has been no response.

...edit to add, cool photo!

Hehe, thanks!

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how he responds to your question...especially just throwing it out there.

On a different note, I just found out my wife got a job interview for today!! She's got one hour to get down there, and I'm excited to see what happens, hope she gets the job. I know that's pretty irrelevant, but I'm excited.

Sorry if it was not good form to not continue to respond. I guess I am not really sure what there is to respond to.

I am not going to mention the name of the person who made the initial statement and didn't see the need to stir whatever pot was unintentionally created by my initial post by continuing to reiterate that fact. It was not my intention to start any controversy. Again, the cigar world is a very small group of people, and things get around really fast. I have learned this before and it was a hard lesson learned.

Of course, others are entitled to their opinions and experiences which I don't question. If you like CBid, use them. It makes no difference to me where you buy your cigars.

The reasons I personally don't use them is based on my own personal taste and buying habits, second hand information and various opinions. Perhaps some would consider this childish. I have never ordered from them, and so any opinion I have is not based on personal experience with their service.

I hope that clears anything up.

Walk away dude! Just turn around and walk away. Forget all about cbid and just walk away. You will get hooked and then you realize you have no more money for food and your GF dumps you and you start turning tricks on the corner streets to bid some more!!!!!!!

LMAO.. so damn true, I'm a newbie and found that site after CI and Famous and about 900 dollars later on just cigarbid I am realizing what everyone is talking about, DAMN that site is addicting, be careful as said many times before, it's so easy to get carried away especially for newb who want to explore and try new things.......... Hold on... BRB I gotta make a bid real quick. :whistling:

I like C-bid, but only for certain things. I would never bid on premium Padrons or Fuentes there, unless you want to pay $35 for a freakin' Power Ranger!

Yeah, I know what you mean, when you see a premium you really want cigarbid is probably the worst place to go... I learned the hard way and paid 35 for a power ranger, and had the highest bid on another Opus X which was running for about the same, I had the highest bid on the power ranger for a few days and was glad I got outbid on the other and knew I messed up and was hoping I was outbid at the last minute. Anyways ended up getting the 4 packs sampler for 150 and thought that was a way better deal.

ohh yeah like i have had an itch all week to buy so i went on the devils site and bid away lucky for me i got out bid
so im safe for today as long as i dont go back on the site. let alone there are enough good deals on this board to keep my busy

To be completely honest, I just go to cbid, snoop around a lowball a bunch of stuff. :) I usually pick up a couple things for good prices. However, I have found that I do not go there very often anymore, as the good stuff that I really want can usually be found cheaper since everyone and their brother bids on that stuff and gets it over MSRP usually. You can get good deals once in a while though! It is a good place to lose alot of money lol. An even better place for those mid range sticks you want at 50% off! :)

I wouldn't go on that site looking for high end stuff, but instead use it to buy some everyday type smokes for cheap. I wouldn't go looking for an Opus X, but I have no problem bidding on stuff like 5 Vegas cigars. Then again, I don't usually like to spend over $X amount for things that I can't physically inspect myself, unless it's something that if I receive it in less than perfect condition I will not be out much. With that being said, the orders I've received from cigarbid have been in perfect shape.

Has anyone bid and won any cigars from this site? How is it ran? Is it like a an ebay thing or is it from one company?

I plan on doing the newbie thing on this site soon but stumbled upon that site.

I did it once and got 10 Gurkha Beasts for 70 bucks!!!! I, like everyone else, had to walk away. I would have ended up buying a walk-in humidor if I stayed there...as a matter of fact, I think I am going there today!!!!

I had no problem with shipping, receiving, nothing and I had them shipped to Iraq. I wouldn't worry about it...just lock up your credit card.

I have to agree, I just had an order shipped to the wrong address DHL from them (myfault) sent them an email, and I am in Iraq so it was at an odd hour, when they are closed sent the email around Midnight Eastern time and come into work today at 8AM eastern and already had a response that they are gonna have the package sent back to them and replace the sticks once they recieve them back from DHL. I have to say that there customer service is the best of ANY place I have ever purchased anything from. No phone calls no talking to multiple people on the phone... just one simple email through their site and it was done.
And yeah, it's so easy to get carried away because they make everything so simple to buy... it's EBAY on crack, actually just EBAY with great customer service, no scams, and they only sell cigars and cigar accesories.... TOO EASY. Ordered a 100 ct. humidor for CI then after about 2 days on cigarbid I already had to order another 300ct one from tampa humiors... and I'm only getting started.

Cbid is useful if they carry cigars you want at a good price. Approach them like you would any source.

Do your homework unless money is not a consideration.

Note: Comparison Shopper is useful to get a ball park idea but I advice searching the web before you pull the trigger.

Yup, It's harder though when you are just starting out, you always know you might be able to save a few dollars by researching for hours but sometimes you just wanna get it done all in one shot.... especially when you are trying to build up your stock, it's easy though when you just need a few cigars. I was looking the other day at a 300ct. basic humidor that was already at 97 bucks with 3 days left, ended up at 157 and saw the same humidor for 109 plus the make an offer option at Tampa Humidors, so guess it's a general idea of when your making a big purchase or looking for premiums it might not be the site to use but for everyday stuff and convenience it's top notch, IMO.
