Cigar prices

I usually go with average market price on trades and passes of regular to premium sticks, since as noted many of them get so heavily discounted using MSRP practically qualifies as gouging, but use MSRP on the HTF stuff, since the markup on some of them can be so outrageous.

So, basically, what I paid unless I got screwed. Passing along the buttsecks does no one any good.

I've developed an algorithm based on country of origin current weather conditions and the price of tea in China. Problem is, it only runs on Windows 95.

Can you send it to me on a zip disk? I have a tower in my office that runs Windows 95. I knew saving it would come in handy!

All I have is a 5 1/4 floppy and the damn program is 1.96 megs.

I could possibly upload it to a bulletin board.

Any general guidelines for aged stuff, or do you generally wing it around here?

That's also been stated in other threads. General rule is 3-5% per year, usually after around 5 years. Then there's the really HTF's and aged that can go for auction or market value.

Very informative, thanks. I also assume as the gars move toward the lower end, aging value is less or none. As I've learned from the board and from my limited experience, aging mediocre or crappy cigars only makes older mediocre or crappy cigars. Thanks

Are there auctions and markets to look to for things like that (sites I should be learning from)? Not that it's applicable, I'm not a player. But I like to learn the ins and outs of a place such as this, in an attempt to contribute and be an intelligent and informed part of what goes on.

Reading through old passes is probably the best way to learn. Keep track of what is being traded. When in doubt ask about specific cigars, but it's impossible to make a general rule that covers everything.
