When trading etc., what stick price do you commonly use? Box price retail, box price auction, single retail, 5er retail......Just wondering. Thanks

This has been discussed in many 'pass' threads - after all...they are trades!

In brief, CP tends toward the MSRP side of things.

But like they say....'if you have to ask'. ;)

A good rule of thumb for me is I charge 80-90% over what I paid on the sales I do here! These guys don't mind paying more all the time ;) Especially Gary he likes to pay more for his cigars!

That's for the "handling" fee right? :sign:

I was reading another thread about superbowl and a 2 $8.00 cigar buy in and just wondered how it was all ndone. Thought I would ask the pros...thanks

Use MSRP to MSRP, rare or aged cigars are another subject. Most threads will be specific, like the $8 limit. Remember the same cigar in a different state may be more. Tobacco tax rates differ from state to state, that is why most of the time MSRP is used. Like in all things YMMV.

Tax on Cigars in Florida is 0% :D

This whole $8 a stick thing confuses me also, so I usually go with the prices at my local shop. Aim for 8-10 a stick.

When did you start giving him a bigger discount than the rest of us?

What is so confusing about MSRP?

Because Im new sometimes I dont know where to find the MSRP. The website for who makes them doesnt always show it.

This Site has been thrown around before as good starting point for MSRP.

Actually, contacting the manufacturer is best.

The site listed is for price comparison, not msrp.

Anthony, thanks for the discount!

Sam...back off, that's my corner!

Gary you know I got your back! Hmm it may be time to sell your cigars again??? :0

IMO, the comparison shopper works well for majority of "pricing". Being that some manufacturers will inflate the MSRP drastically to make the cigars look like they're a bargain *Gurkha*.

Like Tone-ny said though, rare/aged/HTF/islands can be trickier..

No. It only works to compare prices.

MSRP is just that...MSRP.

It's not the manufacturers that are inflating the prices, it's the resellers....like those listed on comp shop.! ;)

I understand what you're saying...that some resellers sell below msrp...well cool...you got a deal!

:D

That doesn't mean MSRP changed.

But I digress, this is talking specifics and we are speaking generally.

I've developed an algorithm based on country of origin current weather conditions and the price of tea in China. Problem is, it only runs on Windows 95.
