Cigar Cabinet

OUST..... oh no, Jim had to be special and build his own......

I just picked up 1 lb of beads from Cigarmony.com . Each one comes with it's own little bag, so no pantyhose laying around. I put 1/2 lb on each shelf and use a small travel tube on the shelf when I am not using my travel humidor..... All of my RH stays at a steady 65%

Tomorrow night I will try and post some pics of the humi...

 Sorry Tommy... I gotta be me!!

Here's a link to my pics - the humi and the bead fan I made can be seen towards the bottom and on page 2

Thanks for the pics Swissy, I look forward to yours BkCld.

How well is this piece constructed?

My B&M wasn't joking when they said buy more humi than you think you need.

My 150 stick Savoy is overflowing after a month of ownership.

I want a humi that allows storage of boxes...this appears to be the one.

Swissy, one question. In the pic of the full cabinet. It appears that you have your beads in the center shelf in the ice cube container (for lack of a better phrase). Have you changed how your beads are placed? In an earlier post, you suggested that you have your beads spread evenly on each shelf.

Any pics of this setup? (Assuming I'm not a moron and missed it!) :)

Did you simply spread them out on a tray of some sort?

Thanks,

Rob

Rob-
yeah... you're a moron!
Sorry- couldn't resist... and that pic does show it, you just cannot see it. I have the beads split between each shelf. This are simple plastic trays, about 10"x2"x2". I have the beads in them, then each tray is sealed with pantyhose to keep the beads from spilling in case they get knocked over.

my opinion on the quality? Well, it's not an aristocrat. But it's also not costing $1000 either. It will tide me over until I can get a walk in built in my new house in 10 years however. With the wife's permission I might add...

just do it! ;)

You da man! Thanks for the response.

P.S. It only took someone just over a month to figure out that I'm a moron. I have to work on that. :)

Mark-

I did look into those humis. I like them both, but my thinking is if I go above $500, I might as well go all out with a custom cabinet with built-in humidification.

The Conn. is bigger than the first of the two you linked and it's less expensive.

You'll get my business in other ways. :)

I bought a tower of power from dave at cheaphumidors.com, they were verry good communication wise and the product was really nice. The only complaint I have is with the shipping comapny they use.

Watsons national LTL or now Fedx Freight Line sucks and will charge you an arm and a leg above what you pay in shipping to cheaphumidors. The $200 I spent showed that Watsons only charged $180 not $200 for the shipping and then proceeded to send me a bill two weeks later for a $69 lift gate fee for them taking it off the truck and another $49 for them to put it on a dolly and bring it to my door. This was all done before they actually rang the door bell and asked which door I wanted it at. The other thing was It was shipped Aug 17, it was at the Kansas City depot on aug 30th, they wernt even going to deliver it till I called and asked why they havent called or delivered it and they didn't have an answer and finally got around to it on Sept 9th.

In conclusion, Dave at cheaphumidors is a good person and will stay in contact with you for the most part. I would not buy any products from anyone if they are being delivered by Watsons.

Sorry it took so long for me to post some pics.....

I use a small Oust fan... but I really don't know if it makes too much of a difference

That is SWEET!

Thanks for the pics!

Damn, that's a big Zippo :D

I'm glad your humi finally showed up. Why don't you pop over here and post an introduction so we can get to know you.

Tommy, thats a good setup. You collect Zippos?

Nope.... not collecting Zippo lighters (not yet). I just buy what I like, but I did pick up a nice older one at a Flea Market for $5.00. Big difference between the newer ones.

Ashtray was bought by my wife and given to me by my daughter for Christmas.....

 to my wife for getting the hint (left the business card to Cigarmony.com on the table)
