Hey everyone. I've been looking at cigar cabinets for a little while now and think I may end up getting the Connoisseur from cheaphumidors.com I've only read good things about it, I did a search on here and saw a couple posts about it and it seems pretty good. Does anyone know of any other affordable cabinets I should look at?

Thanks for your help.

Check the deals forum, Cigarmony.com has an amazing deal on a piece that's probably quite a bit better than the one you're looking at.

Yeah, ive seen the one on cigarmony and with the free shipping price is about the same as the one I'm looking at. I was thinking about that one for awhile, but I want to stay away from glass and its capacity is half of the one on cheaphumidors.com (I know They never hold as much as they say they do, but it is still larger than the one from cigarmony)

Thanks for pointing that out though, I forgot that there was a deals forum.

A number of folks on these boards (myself included) have purchased from CheapHumidors. If their cabinet has the features you are looking for you should be very happy with it.

My $00.02 - B.B.S.

Personally I think that is the best cabinet available for the money! ;)

Be sure to compare the actual measurements (dimensions), not what they tell you the capacity is.

Agreed... I have the Conny and it does not hold 1200 cigars! But I do love it... works great and holds what I have and a nice steady RH.

Take a look at some wine coolers before you decide, thermo-electric cooling may come in handy during those hot Florida summers.

Any idea what the actual capacity is? I knew it wouldn't acually be 1200, When you get above the 25 count humidors, I find none of them will old there stated capacity.

Thats not a bad idea at all, I hadn't thought of that. During the summer keeping my sticks in the low seventies can be rough even with an A/C going all day. I'll look around some. I probably wont order anything untill the new year, so I hae a little time to look.

Thanks everyone for your advice. One unrelated question I hope I can get answered here without starting a new thread. Has anybody every ordered from cheapercigars.com I've noticed they have decent prices on their sticks, but I really noticed the S.T. Dupont Xtend lighters going for $99. I've been looking around for one and there price is about $35 cheaper than most of the other sites. This kind of set me off and makes me wonder if they are a legit site. Hopefully someone hass had experience with them and can let me know.

Thanks again for the advice and the help.

I got the same one and love it..... add 1 lb of beads from Cigarmony and you'll be all set

at my dad's place, you can't get it below 72F, when when the temp outside is 95F plus, even if you run the A/C all day long.

I have the Connoisseur also. It's great. You can't beat the value in this cabinet.

Shoot me a PM if you decide to go the route of the Wine Cooler. I'll help you out with setup, and some advice.

Where do you have your 1lb of beads?

Assuming you have 70% beads on the bottom shelf, what is the RH in the drawer? It would seem that the RH would be lower than the space directly around the beads. Is this wrong?

I look forward to your response.

Thanks,

Rob

Hey Rob,
I have mine in trays on each shelf - spread them out equally. Plus a circulating fan that keeps everything even no matter what. I do notice that the draw is lower - I use 65% beads and my drawer is usually 62-63% which is fine. I grab my smokes from the drawer first

Swissy,

Thanks for the response. Do you have the beads sitting in a tray on each shelf?

Do you have any pics that you could share?

I'm strongly considering buying this humidor.

Rob

EDIT: What kind of circulating fan do you have? An OUST fan?
