Are you looking for hotel rooms for five families? You might be better served checking into beach house rentals, as that isn't the prime vacation season, and golfers tend to head to Myrtle Beach, you may find that to be a less expensive alternative.

Beach Rentals for Charleston, SC

The above link is just one with which I'm a bit familiar, but there are loads of rentals in that area.

On your way through, if you have time to stop in Columbia, SC, let me know. We could get together for a quick smoke break at one of the local B&M's here.

Good Luck!

I don't know about places to stay but while you are down there you should go check out "The Wreck" in Mt. Pleasant. Just ask a local how to get there, or google some directions. It is worth it.

Mabe a hurff brewing.

I used to live there and went back for a wedding last year......I stayed at Ripey Point in Charleston, SC (just search marriott - there is both residence inn and springhill suites) Ripey point is nice locale that is easy drive to downtown and the battery....now little more drive if you trying to get to the beach (isle of palms/folly beach) ...if beach is your destination take a look at hotels in mt pleasant which is about 15 minutes at most from isle of palms but probablyt affordable hotels.....FYI - be tough in April because that is the start of tourism in charleston since it gets hot as hell in july/august

Warning - my charleston knowledge is started to get dated though......but what a great place to live and visit

Extended Stay America just across the bridge in Mt P. Red Roof over there also if you are going frugal.

I lived in Mt P for a while and Im partial to it.

West Ashley and North Chucktown is dumpy. Downtown is pricey.

Chucktown is really nice. I miss it almost daily.

Be sure to get some BBQ from Melvins and Sticky Fingers when your there. The Marketplace downtown is a cool place for food and drinks. Wet Willys is also a mandatory stop. Check out Pat Point, catch a Stingrays game, and walk around the battery and downtown and you'll have it covered.
