Don't bring other boards BS to CP. You have a problem at "club stogie", resolve it there. Just because CigarPass is the ONLY cigar forum which allows open discussion and doesn't modify/delete threads to cover up problems, doesn't mean you can resolve other boards problems here.

I have no probelm with this thread going the way of the Dodo if that is what the mods want to do... I am just hoping CovCat sees it and maybe does some housecleaning... I think that post was very inappropriate and insulting - I would never malign another board, and did report that post over there as well.

I don't think that can be viewed as any type of bashing, giggling, smickering or anything of that sort. I merely voiced my opinion(which I maintain) that someone here should have voiced a similar opinion to my own. "Policing your own" does not necessarily mean deleting or editing a post, a better more constructive solution would have been for one of the respected members here to voice their disapproval of bashing another board, or silly shadow posting of a vendor.

hudsonvalley - it is really gorgeous there this time of year, my family is from Newburgh, I am jealous that you are enjoying fall in such a beautiful place! You are right, you don't have to be right to get along - more on that below. As per your question of why I PM'd Rod - out of deference to his position on this board I PM'd him, not to whine, but to give him some background and explain my position. If he feels it appropriate to share that PM I am completely comfortable with that and would harbor no ill will - again, I have nothing to hide. I would be willing to send you a similar PM if you'd like(I forgot to save a copy to my send messages folder or I would send the original) - just drop me a PM and I'll get back to you shortly.

Now I think I am about done with this thread:

A. It seems to have taken on a life of its own - All the posts are now about other posts not the real issue any more, nor anything to do with the original post
B. It gives me no smoking pleasure - and let's face it we are only here to talk about cigars

This is out of hand. If this board has a policy of not deleting threads, then this one should be closed. Or at least moved to a section that's not supposed to be about Cigars...maybe the Lobby or some other "no topic" area.

I don't know about most of the people here, or even just the 'Newb' sector that I'm a part of, but I think the idea of this bb is to discuss the hobby/passion/addiction/obsession that we all share.....cigars. That should override the length of time somebody's been online, a member of this site, or the number of posts they've amassed. I'd have a couple thousand posts myself, but I didn't know this site existed until Moki linked to his Opux reference thread on another forum. Does that make anything I have to say hold less water? I hope not.

I'm not here to trade cigars, or buy or sell them. I'm here to discuss them. Anybody up for that?

As long as we're talking about "context" here it should be pointed out that your post came after and amid numerous posts bashing CP. Reading the thread you quoted "in context" it is obvious that you were caught up in the moment and posted your BA post. Don't blow smoke up my dress and tell me my panties are on fire.

For the record:

It is NOT just the internet. This board is every bit as valid as any other relationship in physical life. There are friendships built here that are real and interactive and just as dynamic as they are in the flesh.

Voicing your opinion is fine as long as you can take the heat your opinion may draw. Bashing other boards is frowned on here and I would have said something had I seen it. When I did see it, it was too late. You'd already made your posts here and further, dragged it over to CS with your "this makes me so mad" schtick.

From you point of view I really don't see what the big deal is.
