Cabinet Build

Damm, I have to be a cabinet builder in my next life. You have hands of gold!! It is a pleasure to watch an artisan like you work!!
Far from a cabinet builder...lol thx tho! I'm just "weekend warrior" when it comes to building things

Didn't get too much accomplished today, was a beautiful day so I spent most the day chasing a little white ball around.

Frame work is done. Next phase will adding the top, bottom, and sides and then the faceplate molding.. Then I will begin building the doors and the drawer, get them hung and lined up perfect. Then I will add the wiring and the receptacles for power. Then I will add the back, insulation(not really needed, just doing it cause I can really..lol) Should finish up with the glass for the doors, then the crown molding and finishing.

Still have a long long ways to go!

Everything is square and put together solidly, so I feel good about it...so far so good!

Got the supports for the drawer added today, as well as the top and the bottom of the cabinet.

Just a picture of the top.

Building is about to slow down for a week or two, return to work tomorrow other than a couple of quick turnarounds (days to nights to days) I will be working 12 hour shifts for the next two weeks. Will piddle with small stuff everynow and then.

As you can see, I got a little sloppy with my jigsaw cuts...lol Shoulda changed blades before hand...but NOoooo.

Don't forget to build a secret drawer to hide shit from your wife/future wife. :whistling:

I'm one track minded, but for real....

I've had a couple Birra Morretti, so excuse the edit. I love the oval windows man, that's the perfect design. Could I get mine in ebony w/mahogany trim?

Had a day off work today, so I played gold this morning and worked on the humi this evening.

Got the sides of the cabinet cut and mounted, cut out the back(will mount it last).

I'm almost halfway home!

Placed my order for 12 pieces of kiln dried SC today, this will be enough to build my drawer, and enough to make all my shelves to go inside the humi. Once that gets here I should have the face frame complete. Hopefully I will have the insulation and the lining installed as well, or at least cut to size and dry fitted.

LOYD,

Very nice Brother. Good to see you are taking control of you new found love of the leaf.

This is great, I can't wait to see the finished product. I've been toying with the idea of doing one of these myself. Maybe next year. I would love to try it; although I've done a fair bit of hobby woodworking, I've never built anything that needs to be as precise as a cabinet (esp. a humi) would need to be, and it would be a fun challenge!
