I used to work in Chicago and I’ve attended 4-5 of these over the years, and it’s well worth the admission. You end up leaving with probably 50-60 free cigars from the vendors. Makers offer boxes for sale at greatly reduced prices. They give away some NICE swag. I’ve gotten over the years, a Waterford crystal ashtray, a Luis Vuitton cigar case, a fancy cigar scissors, very nice stuff. The cigars are excellent and the vendors often toss a couple extra in your bag. There is a buffet dinner, not fancy, German fare usually, and a free open bar. For $250 you can’t go wrong, basically the cigars are worth that, the booze, the dinner, and the gift are basically free.

There’s a Holiday Inn a mile away I stay at, don’t want to drive after this. I have not been in about 3-4 years, but I’m thinking about going this year. If you’re within driving distance I highly recommend this. If there are several of us we can sit together, tables usually seat 6-8.

Went to this a couple years ago and stayed at that same hotel. Great time for sure!

I have family in Chicago, I’m actually going to fly out, I think, arrange a trip around this. What was the gift that year? @Smart Ash do you remember? They’re pretty nice!

Scroll through some of the past photos on the home page. It’s a pretty good-sized event and loads of fun!

I don’t recall a gift to be honest. I did get a few bottles of liquor with brew city logo and my name etched on them. Pretty cool.

My only bump to check for interest. If there is none, I'll let the thread die.

@Smart Ash I think the reason you don't remember the gift is there are two levels of tickets. The "Gold" ticket ($190) gets you the cigars, enjoying the event, and free German Beer Garden food. I went three times and they are not lying when they say you'll get $250 worth of cigars--if anything, they underestimate it. Last time I went, I came home with about 60 free cigars, and I bought a couple boxes at great prices.

The "VIP" ticket is the one we always got, and it's $275 this year. In addition to the cigars you get the gifts, a sit-down steak dinner, and three cocktail tickets for the bar. Below is a shot of the three gifts I got in my three time attending. One is a four-finger La Gloria Cubana Artesanos De Tabaqueres cigar case, one is a Waterford crystal cigar ashtray (the only one I really use), and a Montecristo cigar scissors.

It's not Mortons's but the dinner is good, the event is a blast, and I'd love to meet any of you Chicago or Milwaukee area BOTLs there. Link to the event is in the OP and again, below the photo.

I'll probably stay at the Holiday Inn or the Fairfield.

Oh, forgot the cigar exhibitor list. Now I remember where I got the Alec Bradley I smoked the other day.

And booze exhibitors. This is why we stay in a nearby hotel, we'll be pretty unsteady on our feet after this. They usually have some good deals on bottles, but they sample all this stuff as you walk around.

Yeah, I for sure got the vip and had the dinner. It was a grilled filet. TBH I probably did get something, but I likely gave it away. Is this hosted by metro cigars out of germantown wi? I remember talking with the owner there, he has a really nice newer cigar bar. Anyway, it is a great time.

Yes, Metro cigars is one of the sponsors. I used to smoke there occasionally with some Milwaukee buds. Sadly, my friend I used to go with passed away of pancreatic cancer a couple years ago. I probably last went in 2019.
