Black Friday wall mart

It seems like every year i read a story like this. The stores are totally to blame for causing such havoc. It just goes to show how the christmas season has turned into a full blown retail holiday. I try to stay out of the stores and do mostly online shopping.

STAMPEDE!!! Well it was at the Wal-Mart at the Green Acres Mall in New York- I hear NY farm animals are easily stirred this time of year!!!!

Sad. However, as sad and unfortunate as that is, this part had me furious:

The police said that three other shoppers were injured and a 28-year-old pregnant woman was taken to the hospital for observation.

One shopper, Kimberly Cribbs, said she was standing near the back of the crowd at around 5 a.m. on Friday when people started pulling the doors from their hinges and rushing into the store. She said several people were knocked to the ground, and parents had to grab their children by the hands to keep them from being caught in the crush.“

What the #$@#% are KIDS and a pregnant lady doing at something like this? Morons.

I used to partake in the madness, it was an experience. However the past few years it's seemed to get more and more violent. Last year I was in line at a Best Buy when a few people try to cut in line about 10 minutes before they were due to open, and the crowd... er mob of several hundred people stampeded the door. Cop & firefighter came to try to disperse the crowd, but in the end they practically broke down the door. I went home shortly after the stampede, just not worth it.

The part that really got me was, " On Friday, Wal-Mart released a statement saying that the man who was killed had been working for Wal-Mart through a temp agency."

He is not one of our employees. Good old Wal-Mart

I don't shop at Wal-Mart. The Union loving, rabble rousing, Good Sisters of Perpetual Misery, who raised and educated me, would be damn disappointed if I did.

Doc.

Ditto for me on that part! We had 3 children and even 14-18 years ago tried to leave them with a sitter during that day of madness back THEN! We just got back a while ago from a morning of shopping, but no way would I attempt to be there before doors open!!

It used to be dangerous to be on the road on Thanksgiving night.
Now, it is dangerous to shop Friday morning.

I love Wal-mart, they get my business all the time. Even today, I had to get something.
It was supper crowded, but no line at the register. Whoo-Hoo! Plenty of workers to help you find things and be on your way.
I just love capitalism. I hope they never go union.

I think shopping at big box stores Friday morning after Thanksgiving is more dangerous to your health than smoking cigars. Congress really ought to write up some legislation to get control of that horrible, horrible tradition.

I always made a point of not leaving my house the day after Thanksgiving. However, today I loaded up the family and hit Target and Wal-Mart. Left around 10:00 am, got everything I needed, hit the White Castle drive-thru and was back by 12:30. I was very surprised how easily I was able to find a parking place and how short the cashier lines were. Wasn't bad at all.

Of course, I didn't get anywhere within 10 miles of a mall. I'm not crazy...

It is fugging disgusting what this bull $h!t black friday "holiday" has turned into. They should have locked the store down, and charged every single person in there with murder.

I agree, I actually refuse to shop on Black Friday. After what I read last year about the fights over Playstations and laptops, no thanks. The median income for this area is between $80-90k, which sickens me more...pure greed.

This just on the News. Someone just got shot at a Toys-r-Us.

Doc.

Thats just crazy shit. I told the little lady all ready, money is is short supplie, we shop after the holidays.

Disgusting. Are rabid consumers going to start biting and throwing stones at each other at big sale events next?

Honestly, people sicken me more often than not these days. This community is a good example of the 'few good men' left in the world.

i'm an hourly manager at my local walmart, only one thing happened, some lady tried to bite someone else over a tv, we detained her, and called the cops. there is always one, but all together, not too bad. biggest crowd i've seen in five years, but most people were cool.

This is so insane, and so very sad. You gotta wonder how far things are going to go and how bad they are going to get.
