Bitcoin...Anyone Here Using It?

Are any members here currently using Bitcoin or have an opinion about the service either way? I've been on the fence about this for months now and would like to get some other points of view.

I've been right where you are for about as long.
It would be great to hear others experience/thoughts on it.
 
I've heard several good things along with plenty of skepticism.
 
I don't traffic in bitcoins, so I don't use it.  It does seem to be getting more and more traction.  My only concern is that the value of bitcoins seem to be inflated to me.  I have seen (on several occasions) a group of people gathering at Union Square buying and selling bitcoins.

I read that article previously on Wired's website and a few others along the same lines...and it was one of the reasons I posted this topic looking for other opinions that I may have missed. If we were looking for an alternative to PP, this new vehicle may not be it as a less intrusive, more private way of paying for things globally.
 
My skepticism is right up there with yours Larry ;)
 
I have used Bitcoins a few times in the past mainly out of curiosity and found it a bit cumbersome to go through all the conversions, storing and security measures just to basically do all the same stuff you can with cash.  I know a lot of people that have made a fair amount of money off the BTC market however and swear that the chance for profits and new business is only going to get better.  Lots of discussions on BTC.  Was there any specific questions you had about it?

Haha, I was soooo lucky... I bought about $200 worth (at $2 a piece) at the end of 2011, and just forgot about them until a few years ago... At over $380 and rising, I don't agree that it has failed... Bitcoin definitely has it's place, I could hire a hit-man, buy Cuban cigars, and some really bad stuff, without anyone ever knowing about it :) I am very familiar with the guy who wrote this article, and what he is doing is firing a warning shot across the bow of the main group that is in charge of the software, and if they don't agree to use the new software “Bitcoin XT” that this author helped create, THEN it will fail... Just look at his "conclusion" After all the writing on how it has failed, he says "Still, all is not yet lost"...

I have a friend who is VERY into Bitcoin. I honestly don't know a whole lot about it, myself, but with this being the digital age, I cannot help but believe that the future of e-currency is heading this way. I think it's going to be a case of get on board or get left behind in the near'ish future.
