There is more to a cutter than the cut,
and we shall see if the Zino is worth it. I will have shipment
in 3 days. I'll keep you posted when I cut my first Sublime..

Forget the first cut..... get back to us after the 500+ cut. ;)

If I had 500+ Sublimes I'd send some your way...

Sheesh all my cutters come free from cigar shops :\ guess I never took stock in the cutter portion of smokin sticks.

I have to say there is more to it than
meets the eye. The less I leave to guess work
or less than perfect equipment (lighters, cutters, humidors) the more I can
enjoy my smoke...Start with a good Zino and work your
way to the top.

Goodness... now I am intrigued and that usually makes my gf cringe at the money I spend...

....seems the lowly Xikar was rated second overall. For $35.00 on CBid I think I made a good choice....

Can anyone recommend a good V-cutter that will handle a fairly large ring size and doesn't cost an arm-and-a-leg like the Prometheus does?

I have cut well over 10,000 cigars with my Swiss Army Knife cutter and it is still as good today as it was when I first got it.

I always thought the Xicar was supposed to be a good cutter. 40 to 60 bucks is alot for me to spend on a cutter. Has anyone had any bad experiences with it? Keep in mind I am pretty new at cigar smoking and I am really not interested in alot of flash.

The Xikar reviews and word of mouth are very positive.
Personally I like the control associated with the finger
loops on the Zino style.

As far as the price goes, I suspect I'll have this one for
5 years...my current Zino was a gift in '99. Time to step
up :)...still waiting on delivery though.

I purchased the Xicar earlier this yr, as my first cutter that cost more than 5 bucks. I have no regrets, it's done a great job and every cigar smoker I know has commented positively on it. I'll buy one or two more in the future, just so I have one everywhere I go...has great a great feel.

Did you get the metal or the plastic? The metal has a much better feel to it, but I think it's 60 bucks whereas the plastic is 40.

I have the metal one which is the Xi1

The plastic is the Xi2

The Xi3 is metal but with rosewood.

If you do enough looking you can find the Xis on ebay for a pretty good deal.

I got the metal and am glad I did, considering the few times it's been dropped..you won't regret the investment.
