Going to Vegas on last minute notice. I won't see anything that gets posted after 4:00 (eastern) today, so please post ASAP. :p

Anyway, the summer issue of Smoke said the best bets for premium smokes are: the Davidoff shops in some of the casinos, and a place called "The Tinderbox" about 12 miles off the strip.

Thats what Smoke says. . . Now, where should I really be looking? Where am I likely to find some nice singles at near MSRP?

Thanks in advance.

I was there a few weeks ago. The Davidoff shops in the casinos do have a nice selection but at ABSURD prices. Like $50 for a PAM.

From what I have read about Vegas I would bring your own. I was there last year but wasn't into the hobby yet. If you like Sushi though make sure you stop at Ceasers (Sp)

Bring your own smokes. Everything at a Casino is more.

Yep, bring your own smokes -- everything in Vegas -- especially on the strip -- will be expensive as hell. The Tinderbox 12 miles off of the strip would probably be your best bet if you must buy something there. I'd suggest bringing your own smokes tho.

Not every shop is crazy expensive in Vegas. I have Family that live in Las Vegas
and they smoke cigars. Check out this site and just have fun going to the different shops. From what I have found most of the OFF strip shops have VERY good pricing
Las Vegas ASH

I spend about 1 1/2 months a year chillin in vegas

ohhh Tinderbox is a nice shop but yes they are expensive. just about ALL the tinderboxes ive ever been too over prices their stock.

Well, too late now but

BYOC

(Bring Your Own Cigars)

PLEASE DO NOT waste your money by spending 3 times full retail at casino shops.

I fully agree with Bros Andrew and Bill.... BRING YOUR OWN CIGARS! It's too bad that the Dunhill Store in Caesers Forum closed down as they had an incredible inventory of the finest cigars and they were only slightly above MSRP! They had especially great prices on VSGs, Don Carlos and Hemingways and for you La Aurora Preferido fans they had great prices on them too!

Your best bet is off the strip at some of the shops listed above. At least you can feel comfortable lighting up practically anywhere in Vegas!

Aloha,

Wade

The best place in Vegas for premium smokes is Las Vegas Paiute Tribal Smoke Shop @ 1225 N Main St. Major cross streets are Owens & Main. Phone # is 387-6433. They have a great selection, lowest prices, no sales tax, and usually give an additional 20% off everything if you ask for it. My second choice would be the Tinderbox. I wish I had seen this sooner so I will email this info to you also.

Thank you for all the feedback!

I only saw the first 3 posts before I left for Vegas, but that was enough for me to know I needed to bring my own cigars. Nevertheless, I still had to check a couple of cigar sources while I was out there (you know, just to satisfy my curiosity). First, not wasting any time, I stopped in the cigar-kiosk located in the airport terminal. The fact that they wanted $56. for an Opus :sneaky: was enough to convince me to just keep moving.

One day later, I took a look through the inventory on a cigar-cart in the Convention Center lobby. These were more reasonably priced about $18-20 for assorted Hemingways, $24 for a Diamond Crown No. 7 (still way over MSRP, but more like what you would expect to see in a restaurant or a bar). Needless to say, I passed on these as well.

Then I went into the convention and got a real nice surprise. I’m sure most of you have been to conventions either as an attendee or an exhibitor, but for those that haven’t I should point out, that the exhibitors often have some sort of novelty attraction at their booth to draw a crowd. This show was the NBAA, a business aircraft convention with tons of manufactures (several who are clients of the company I work for) selling aircraft related products and services. One of the charter operators had a cigar rolling demonstration at their booth to attract spectators within pouncing distance of the aircraft charter salesmen.

Turns out, the roller was from Graycliff. There were also a few Graycliff sales reps, and there was a big display of finished boxed Graycliffs. Well, it was mentioned by the sales reps, that they were not going to be carrying these cigars back home again, and that anyone interested could purchase any cigar for $10. :0

I grabbed 4 Espressos (2 presidents, 2 pirates) for myself and coworkers. I didn’t have any more cash on me, but 4 for $40. was still a good haul. And the best part is, they said they would be back next year with the same deal. You can bet I’ll be bringing some serious funds with me at that time! (I guess I should probably also post here to see if anyone else wants me to pick up a few, what do you think?). :D

MSRP on those Espressos are $18. You got a damn good deal.
I know it!
The sad part is, if I’d had $250. with me, I could have picked up a full Alligator Skin box of them. :(
Oh well, there’s always next year. :D

That's a little more than half MSRP. Yeah, I'd say that's a good deal. ;)
